My CHE rear control arms that is !!! Big deal?Probably not,but I'm still pretty excited. Now,when I have a little time (maybe next week),I'll swap the steering rack, diferential, control arms and Shelby diff. cover. The engine will be swapped some day........early next year.
Between the arms, the bushings they use and the spring perches; you WILL notice a difference. ;)
Congrats Vinnie! I can't wait for the day I can post such a topic as this.
After I installed a bunch of new suspension/steering/brakes, I started having weird clunks and other noises occasionally form around the vehicle. There's only so much to look at and it has all been checked and and time again, yet it still annoys me when I hear it. Be careful as one of these modifications could very well do something like this to you also, causing a never ending battle for perfection.
These noises and a noisy valve train (Brand Energizer rocker arms), I have pretty much given up and just drive it as it is. The car sounds so old though, even with all new parts outside of body panels and the interior. I somewhat regret modifying the car as much as I have and had more interest in driving it before I even knew how to change battery terminals. Be careful you don't turn out like me :/
No worries,I'm really careful about what I do and how I do it.I'm going to order some new spring isolators today, and there should be no reason for any strange noises. The front suspension is great, just my steering rack is leaking (after only 3 or 4 months of use). It's under warranty,so,it'll be swapped soon.Hopefully Saturday, but if not, then soon afterwards. It won't take long.I have a solid two days of work if I had the time between the differential and control arms, and the engine waiting patiently for me on the stand. This is the worst time of the year for me to do anything. It seems like there's something to do every day.....besides work with the Sport.
I hope so.I'm not disappointed in the way the car handles now,but any improvement is welcome.I looked at the control arm last night, and they are miles ahead of the factory pieces.I can twist the factory arms with two screwdrivers in the bolts holes of the bushings......that can't be good.LOL. I am going to see if there's some way to mount the quads back on to the Sport. The 10 inch rims and 175 tires required me to remove them.I'll experiment while I'm under there.
Did you get adjustable?
wow great pics!!!!! lol will are cars ever truly be done.
Pics coming soon.I've been gone all day shopping and out late with car club last night, and Christmas parade in the morning.BUSY !!!
Kitz, not adjustable.I am happy anyway !!!For the price (and they are new with the hardware),I made out great !!!
I'm up early this fine Saturday in the 27 degree morning (Supposed to hit the mid 50's today)because I have to wash the car for the Christmas parade,so,I thought I'd drop off the pics. Here we go......all two of them.LOL........

Wow, you bolted the cover to the carpet
Yep.When I want thins to stay put, they do !!! I've got to go wash the car.I'll be ack later. The Bird is in the Christmas parade today !!!
forget the parade and start wrenching :hick:
It was 28 degrees this morning.I'll probably be wrenching next Wednesday and Thursday on my days off.The arms look like they have something on them, but it's the frozen control arms in the warm house. The Sport is always going to be a work in progress, although after the "hard parts" are installed,I can start to focus on seats and little things for appearance.
