Title: 5spd ???
Post by: jandmmustangs on December 03, 2009, 03:22:36 PM
Does anyone know if the 5spd in a Merkur XR4TI is the same 5spd as used in a T/C and XR7 Turbo Cougar.  I got a lead on one and if its the same it'll be taking up residence in my 86 Turbo Cougar.  Thanks in advance.

No.

It's a T9, not a T5.

(That is unless the previous owner has swapped in a T5, which is a common swap)

Not around  here. You used to be able to pick them up almost every weekend at the u-pull-it lots. Now, if you aren't right there when the car hits the lot, forget it.
Craigslist is another story though. I think all the ones for the jy's end up on craigslist here.
