hey y'all its been a long time since i've been around. the good news is the sport is on the road and is my driver again. the paint went to hell sitting in the driveway for almost 3 years. had a few small issues. after doing what it needed last night, after running about 10 min. the smog pump locked up. fortunaty the old merc had a good one. put that in this morning. drove about twenty miles with no issues. this weekend putting in most of the raven interior from the tc. its good to be back and driving the old bird again.
Sounds good to me. Those dang smog pumps never fail in the driveway. I think they corrode from sitting. They only pump air after all and they aren't lubricated. Mine locked up a few years ago 100 miles away from home at 11PM. Not fun.
don't know if its a sound idea but i sprayed wd 40 into it and spun it around a few times before installing it.
You got me on that. My new one came with a sticker saying not to lubricate.:dunno:
Good to see you.......again.This time, stick around !!!!! Pics of the car are required, even iof it looks like .No matter how it looks,it can't be as bad as mine was before paint. Now,no more leaving the forum. You have to have priorities Man !!! LOL.
:ttiwwp:
I actually did luck out when the air pump on the 'vic winter beater locked up...in the driveway last Janurary lol. It was an absolutely brutally cold day, I think it was either just about 0 degrees or a few below...started it and bam, done. For whatever reason, panther 5.0s seem to have a two-crank-pulley setup, one for the air pump and A/C compressor. The belt was almost new too, cut it and got rid of that problem, the compressor pulley is kinda rusty now from just sitting there naked with no belt. :hick:
