Check out the downsy looking road runner :yuck:
Concept Road runner (http://"http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Plymouth-Road-Runner-Concept-Car_W0QQitemZ180435219454QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item2a02c6f3fe#ht_2240wt_1149")
Ehhh, could be worse...really not much different than what the average automobile nut could expect, I think.
Right on par with Generic Motor's Camaro, the ALL NEW Mustang, and the Dodge Challenger thing.
Too bad they didn't go for the '68-'69 style though. Those cars give me wood in a weird way.
Maybe cause dad had one..I dunno.
EXPENSIVE.
Birdman or Lil' Wayne will probably buy it and put in there videos. ;)
translation: "We are under no obligation to do anything we've promised here."
Maybe somebody forgot to tell them the economy tanked and people aren't taking 4th morgages for $40K Harleys or Beanie Babies.
I actually like it... a lot.
How can they make a road-runner when plymouth doesn't exist anymore? With that said, that is one very ugly car for the money.
I don't mind it from the side, but I am not feeling the front or the rear at all. When the 05 Stang came out, I took one look and HAD to have one. I didn't have the money and didn't get an 05, but I lusted after every single one I saw. That design just clicked, this one, not so much.
Agreed!
Looks like a modern interpretation of the 71 Roadrunner (My fave Mopar)

I think it looks good. Too bad Plymouth died. They had some pretty fierce cars in their day.
i'm diggin on it too!
:barf::yuck: Just my opinion.
I like it, but there isn't a Plymouth to build it. They'd have to make a 2 door Charger like they should have done in the first place lol.
Nope, too downsy for me. The front end is fine infact i like the light up road runner in the grille just the ass end looks like a kid with downs. Not to mention if its being built off of the Challenger its got that nice heavy cumbersome frame.
You have no love for the classics man.

Classic dodges? No, Classic Chevys ? yes the rare ones. I grew up with unreliable Chrysler domistaports at that time i still had love for classic Chrysler. Then i came to find out Chrysler has had relations with Mitsubishi since the late 70's if i remeber correctly 79. So no, no Dodge/Chrysler "love" will be coming from me.

Dude, that's pretty lame. Sell your Cougar then, cause Ford has had alliances with mazda since the 80's. Even in the 70's, Iaccoca went to puppiesan numerous times for talks with Honda, among others.
Just because they are in business with foreign automakers..that's...well, silly.
Back in the 60's and early 70's Mopar was a force to be reckoned.
Just because they later on used captive imports such as the Colt and more doesn't mean the older cars deserve no respect does it? lol
Hell, I'd never own another Tbird again if I could own a decent numbers-matching '68 Roadrunner. I ain't kiddin either.
You could make that a '70 Chevelle, or a '69 Mach 1 as well...
See what I mean? FIERCE. While I like the earlier Roadrunners, I think the post-'70 models look the best. Something about the roofline that just has a cool vibe. I would drive one.
i like it. when i was little my uncles 71 roadrunner with a 383 and hurst 4 speed set in my yard, i used to sit in it all the time
Please do quote when i said this because I love my mazda cougar (The 99).
My family has owned 2 Plymoth Horizons and one voyager. The first 85 Horizon had a Vw 2.0 if i remember correctly. That died after 2 years of ownership. The second Horizon an 87 admittly lasted until 2004 when my father hit a curb in the snow and bent the frame. Now on to the 87 Mitsubishi Voyager, 2.5 v6 carbourated thing worked correctly for maybe 2 to 3 years after my parents purchased it(New). Then came the first of 5 engine rebuilds, plenty of blue smoke and times when we had to pull off to the side of the road to let it cool down on long trips.
I LOVE the '71's. Those bulging fenders,a Hemi or 440-6,I'd want mine in Sassy Grass Green with black interior.Man,they were crazy awesome.
Okay, this makes no sense. The Roadrunner was 100% Mopar, it had nothing to do with shiznitsubishi so don't act like this has anything to do with anything like that. In fact lets look at all the American brands, Ford has been known to have partnershiznits (I meant the spelling error) with Mazda and Nissan to name two off the top of my head and neither have panned out that well. That Cougar that you hold so near and dear is partially Mazda and the sales of which were somewhat dismal. Yes, Dodge has been busting there @$$ to save Mitsubishi for years no idea why but fact of the matter is no Mopar muscle car had ANYTHING to do with Mitsubishi, any thoughts otherwise are just silly!
Hey guys, let's not let this get out of hand. It's a thread about car.Very simple.Everyone's opinions are just that.....opinions.Let it go.
I always thought the new edge Cougars were built off the Contour platform, which was a europeon Ford platform???:hick:
Absolutely correct there!
I agree with the OP concerning the unreliabilty of the mid-80's Mitsu-powered vans and the like...I too even suffered one very briefly. When the motor went out, I even hauled it off for my friends lol.
I was just sayin' that to dislike the classics because of later models' shortcomings was kinda weird lol
Isn't the engine an evolution of the KLZE Probe GT 2.5?
Yes the 2.5 is its the samey engine with less problems, the new edge cougar was slated to be the new probe. But for some reason Ford threw it to Mercury and called it a Cougar.
uh, no. Mitsubishi is one of the largest corporations in the world, one of the seven zaibatsu. Cars are practically just a side business for them.
back on topic, I find it hilarious that somebody is selling a glorified 10 y.o. mercedes car sight-unseen for just under $1 MILLION, with a disclaimer that absolves the seller of any responsibility beyond delivering a car,
any car, build.
of course, GM called the Mustang a glorified Falcon and look what that got them.
