It broke my heart to see this:

Um, holy sweet jeebus. Talk about getting owned.
That is just stupid beyond words, on the part of the guy in the truck.
I had a vaguely similar case like that once.. much less damage to the car, but some chick pulled out into a crossing that people were not supposed to do, (they've since made it nearly impossible to cross there) T-boned my '78 Corolla right behind the driver's side door and spun me around 180. There was absolutely jack I could've done about it, and I wasn't speeding or doing anything else wrong. (in other words, 1000% her fault) She then begged me to let the accident go because she was one accident away from having her license suspended. Uhhh, no.. if you're one accident away from losing your license, it's probably for a good reason. I dicked around until a cop that was standing nearby ambled over to check out the accident scene.
Holy fvcking shiznit! That poor car, why would he use armorall on his new stang! oh and the accident sucks too...
Holy shiznite!
Is this what a Mustang Ti would look like? ;) (obscure BMW 3 series joke) That's a really-fast-back.
Incredible. At least the truck was buggered up too, though not nearly as bad.

See? Not all Fords explode when they're rear ended.
dumb women :bs: I'm guessing she begged/flirted/cried with you to let her go?
lol I saw that too :giggle:
I feel for that person, god if that happened to my cougar i would be totally broken, No way to 20th anny that was your grandmothers. Yeah armor all blows.
Begged, mostly. If I recall, and this was a LONG time ago, she "had too many miles on the odometer" for me to pay attention to any attempts at flirting that may have been made.. but I doubt they were even made to begin with.
At least she can get a new stang, if any of our cars get wrecked insurance isnt giving us anywhere near what most of us have in our cars and were stuck looking in the classifieds for another old, beat, rusty one to fix up.
I think these 05 Mustangs are cursed. I got 940 miles on mine and I've had more near misses in those 940 than I have in 200K of driving anything else. I think it has something to do with the new body style. People get the "Deer in the Headlights" stare. If you wanna look at a car and appreciate it *ANY CAR* do so safely.
Don't worry, they'll soon be as common as SN95s.. maybe worse. Hell, there are days I see 2-3 different '05s on the road when I'm just driving around town, plus I think the dealer has at least four sitting out front.
I actually spend more time gawking at Fox Mustangs.. mainly 'cause I have this annoying habit of latching onto one visually and then yelling out "HEY! PARTS CAR!".. and I'm much much worse about gawking at Fox T-birds and Cougars.. except I don't do the yelling with those. :D I mostly stare at them long enough to try and determine if there's a For Sale sign on 'em. :p
I STILL do that! :giggle: I actually saw a nice black 87 XR7 up here that is a very similar to mine except for the rims. He's got the ROH Snypers in 17X9" ( the size I want ). He's got the moonroof too.
Half the asshats up here drive SN-95's! I went on a nice leisurely drive with the wife on Friday night. Seems I was located by every SN-95 in the county so they could sit next to me at lights and rev there motors to death. I'm already around 300 RWHP (about 350 Crank) in this car and have nothing to prove to some 18 year old kid in his primered 96 GT missing the back bumper. Let me enjoy a nice drive for Pete's sake!
You're starting to develop my attitude toward driving. :p
It's all about me and my car, whatever it may be at the time. I don't care what some obnoxious punk in the car next to me thinks about it. (and yeah, lately a lot of those "obnoxious punks" are in SN95s) I drive for my enjoyment. My idea of a truly good time with a car (for example) would be owning something like a Ford GT and only driving it at like 4 AM on the Interstate, where hardly anyone else is around to A) gawk at it, and/or B) get in the way of it. Just me and the car and the right music.
Just show 'em your badge, Paul, I'm sure they would stop revving their engines in a hurry :D
BTW, on a completely unrelated note, what do you think of those new Charger pursuit cars? Looks like a mighty compelling alternative to the C/V...
Speaking of charger and magnum cop cars, did anyone else see the special about them on TV. They were featured on the Discovery Channel Show "Daily Planet". There was about a 20 min segment showing ?Texas? law enforcement testing them.
It was interesting. I wonder if they will as reliable as the Crown Vic. My cousin is an RCMP here, and he said: they run the c/v's till 500 000km.
I build cop cars for the RCMP and here (Nova Scotia) they run Crown Vics to a certain point:
After 150k if it needs any major repairs it's decommissioned -or-
After 200k it's put on a waiting list for replacement -or-
If it's wrecked to the point that it's written off or if it can't be safely repaired...
...Then they get a new cop car. It's all about mileage, damage or repairs. Our local detachment still has a '96 Caprice, and in Dartmouth yesterday I saw a '93 Crown Vic still in service (still had the two large rotating roof lights instead of a light bar). I've also seen a detachment have to have an old K-5 Blazer repinted because it was still in the old blue/white paint scheme (that was last year).
I've also learned from building these cop cars that I would NEVER, EVER buy an ex cop car at an auction. I know just how bad those poor cars are when they come into our shop after equipment removal, and after the removal they're even worse...
The magic number up in my department is 100K. Some of the higher ups are trying to stretch it to 125K, however none have made it that far due to the fact that the warrantee/service plan the county has does not include transmission fluid changes. Unlike some of the new style trannys that can go 200K with the same fluid and no change, the 4r70w will not. Heck I had to change my own belt and tension adjuster last week because the pct mechanic was out sick and my lieutenant said to drop the car off at the dealer who handles warantee work. That would have left me driving a spare for this week and next while waiting for it to get fixed. NOT HAPPENING. Besides the mechanic only me and about three other guys will attempt to work on these things. Everyone else asks us for help if its needed and they don't feel like downlining a car for a while and driving a spare hunk o' poop around.
WOAH... That is one screwed up Stang... Anyone lookin for a 3 valve 4.6 for a swap???
Today here in Chesapeake I saw a old '90-'91 box body Caprice still out on patrol(looked good). Thought they had em all down at the police driver training academy. I havent been there but seen some pictures, they have instructors that will scare you to death.. They'll get out there and have the trainees chase them though wooded areas and do all kind of $hit to get away, from raming to running each other off the course. Needless to say there are sum tore up cars when they finish that training...
Ah, thread derailment at its' best. :D
