Title: Junk yard run
Post by: 1BadBird on November 15, 2009, 08:25:51 AM
Hey guys, if the funds allow, this Wednesday, I'll be making a trip to a somewhat local pick-n-pull. While there yesterday and, on my way out, I spied a 87-88 fox Bird (the only fox bird), I took a quick look and it's a v-6 mostly complete but it had T/C taillights. Unfortunately D/S lens was broke. I didn't check it out any further as I has to get back to get my boy. I also found a 03' stang that had a v-6. I'm going back to get the front calipers, spindles w/hubs, and crossmember. I'd like to get the dash assembly and console as they were in good shape considering it's at a pick-n-pull. I'm also going to get a manual tranny and all the stuff I'll need to swap out the slush-o-matic in my little puddle jumper Tempo   Ya, I know it's a Tempo but it only has 48k original miles and is the most reliable vehicle I have. It's going to get a full restoration and will be the son's car when he's able to get a license (scary thought) but that'll be another thread on another website :mullet:
I'll let you all know more tomorrow if I'm able to go or not. Let me know tomorrow night if there's something you want me to look for.
Talk at you all later :D

I need the complete passenger-side seat harness from a 98-ish Lincoln Town Car. Well, not the *entire* harness, but I need the entire part that handles the heated seat portion. Actually, the driver's side would work, too, the only difference is the wire colors. The hardest part of putting heated seats in my car has been getting the harness that the heated seat module and seat pads plug in to.

I'd like to find a NICE set of turbine wheels to restore.  If you find some I could come get 'em.

The P-n-P I'm going back to takes all the wheels off :(  Sorry

I'll take a look and see if one is still in tack and worth retrieving

Not sure what color the interior is, but if you come across the front seat belt connectors (female clik part by console) in BLUE that are not all brittle like mine, I'd like them.  (Both sides, but passenger is the main one I need.)  Thanks!

Hey guys, I couldn't get to the yard yesterday. I had an extended stay at the doc's office with my 84 yr old uncle. Everything is ok, just got screwed about getting to the yard. I have to wait till next Wednesday to go. I've got all of your requests and will let you all know what I find and/or get for you all.
Sorry about this guys :o

OK guys, I'm sorry it's been a while, but we ended up admitting my wife's uncle Friday morning so he could have a couple of infected bones removed from his left foot, I've been spending most of my time at the hospital with him. I live 30+ miles from there now so alot of time is spent behind the wheel.

I was able to get about 4 hrs of free time Sunday and here's what I was able to get and what I found so far.

Sorry Vinnie, the lid was mutilated by the buzzards. When I get my garage to where I can get to everything, I have one from my car that I won't be needing as I'm still planning on switching to the SN-95 dash and console.

88turbo, I found a couple of F150s but didn't have time to pull the rails.

These too were ravished by the buzzards

I did manage to get both spindle/hub/rotor/calipers assemblies along with the R&P unit, hydro boost unit w/MC and the 4.6 K-member from a 2000 mustang GT. I'll be going back this Wednesday to look for and acquire the fuel rails and heated seat wiring and, if it has been destroyed yet, the dash and console out of that 2000 gt.
I'll let you all know what I can get. Again sorry this has been taking so long fellas :(
