Got a Samsung Solstice nice little touch screen cell with applications and all the flash a tech geek like myself could like. My dad did not like the fact that Verizon was taking alltel over so he decided to jump ship to At&t. Hey brett drop me a pm or message me over Live and ill give you my new #.
Gotta love stock photos.
Shoulda stuck to verizon. I switched over and got an HTC Imagio running windows mobile 6.5 pro. Its pretty sweet but my gf just got the HTC android phone and im really digging android. Might see if I can still return it and get the motorola droid.
verizon kinda stuck it to us. been with alltel for a year now and they wont let us switch to the verizon plans or phones.
nah verizon is junk, poor customer service over priced plans/phones.
VZW is the only reliable service out that way. Maybe AT&T works out your way but it's a joke here. Verizon is fantastic. I'll gladly pay a little more for a network that actually works. I constantly am snickering at my budy and his I-Phone, watching him suffer with it's trash service/network. He is always trying to show me how awesome the phone is but more times than not it doesn't work. That, and as a "phone" its kind of py.
I would love an I-phone on verizons network. I'm considering the new motorola droid but i doubt ill spring for a smart phone. Kind of dumb to spend 360 bucks a year extra on top of the phone purchase just to have another "toy." Happy qith my el-cheap-o cellphone that has never let me down.
About six mo ago, I got the cheapest Motorola phone Verizon offers(free), I'm happy...
You see that's the problem when Verizon took alltel over i was in Mt Pleasant Michigan for my cousins wedding. In Mt pleasant there was construction all over the place re routing traffic. We tried to call my uncle who is on Verizon multiple times and got kicked directly to his voice mail. Got to the wedding tried to call him again standing right next to him bam back to voice mail. About a month later back here in Toledo i call my Gf who is on Verizon get kicked directly to her voice mail. Then as a little going away present (after completing our 2 year contract with Alltel) i get hit with a BS charge for 158 dollars for data access. Nobody at the Alltel store or the verizon store would work with me to find out what this charge was all about. Now on the other hand i find these two charges made to my at&t phone yesterday for 10.66 each one for a Thumb play and the other a Global Terra com. 20 minutes on the phone with At&t and i have a refund.
My phone makes phone calls and lets me write text messages. Plenty enough for me and I'm 24......
Well, like i should have said B4 to be fair, If you stay local generally, like most people do, you should stay with the best provider with the best service for your area (regardless of phone). IMO, if you travel a-lot, Verizon has the best coverage overall, as been my experience. I've traveled the entire east coast and never had issue but obviously, where coverage is spotty for all carriers like the mid west and what have you, it not going to be the same. I have had AT&T, Cingular, Sprint, Nextell and Verizon and VZW really does have a much better network, given the places ive been. I can't count the times I have had usable signal and my At&T bud with his Iphone was dead in the water. I will maintain that one bar with verizon is not the same as one bar with any other carrier. If i made a call with that one bar with any other carrier i had in my area without moving i could count on either not connecting or being frustrated with a dropped call. With verizon, if i had a bar, I can make a call and it connects, and as of yet, will not drop.
NONE of this applies, in my experience to anything other than regular cellular coverage. I have never had a smart phone and as tempting as it is to have a computer in my pocket, it's going to be a long time B4 i have one. I stick to makin' calls and bitching about having to text like a high school girl when i have too....
I've got an LG Shine...plenty of phone for me. It texts, sends pic mail, and can have the 'net on it, but I don't have that. Does what it needs to do for me...now if I could just keep from breaking the little f*ckers....on my second Shine already...4th phone this year:punchballs:
I wish I could get enough money for a g1 google phone. Out here there is no reason to use anything except tmobile. Verizon is expensive and has bad coverage. AT&T sucks as well.
It's the LG phones. They break easily. They are fine if you aren't dropping them or leaning on them in your pocket. I'm in construction and have had a few LG phones and they all (those that i have owned) fail. Its either the displays themselves or the link between the phone and the screen (in case of the flip phones). They don't "drop" well. My samsung flp was amazingly dirable (silver with laser red surround) till i got cault in a redonculous downpour in boston after work headed to my car. my Ipod survied but my phone did not. My work boots were filled to the top with water and i litterally couldn't be ant wettr if i fell in a pool. Called the phone insurance and was all good. 3 days later my wife knocked the replacement phone into the sink when she ws doing the dishes. They don't like water. Dried them both out and while they would both work and turn on, they would notconnect to the network for whetever reason.
I replaced that with an LG. The shagy stainless one. 4 months later, fail city. Due o using up my ins. and deductables, i ent to my wifes spare cheepo "free" samsung little blue pos phone of texting death. Got her an EnV2. That phone is still kicking along 2 years later (after a good year and a half of use). The battery needs to be charged nighly but its yet to let me down.
A smart phone it is not, but it has yet to let me down. Besides, I have a computer for GH/FOF, Google Maps/navigation, Email, IM, Games, online shopping and research ETC.....
With the smartphone I have now I can do enough with it that I could almost cancel my cable and stop using my PC enough and save on electricity enough to make up for the extra cost of the smartphone plan. Plus I can near do it anywhere.
I had Verizon a few years ago, never got service from day one (Not kidding) I had to drive two hours away to get service in Des Moines.
For a company who blatently told me that it was my phone and sent me three of them (No change) and when I threatened to change providers they told me I couldn't find better service anywhere (I did quite easily in fact) I was done with them pretty quick. I don't need to pay a monthly fee for a paper weight that looks like a phone.
We just changed to Verizon in April...so far so good. I have the LG EnV2 and I like it. I just use it for texting and calls right now... but it's doing well fo rme. I've dropped it a few times and no problems.
My kids have the cheaper motorola phones and my one daughter is on her 3rd phone now... but not because of the phone but because she has gotten it wet several times and doesn't take care of it. The other kids with the same phone have had no issues... and all of us get great service... even in the mountains.
Maybe certain models but the LGs we got in '05 were still fine earlier this year, till the wife washed hers... Even then, it still worked after I dried it out in the oven, but the battery would no longer hold a charge... I always carry mine in my pocket and it looked like it was in a war, even the case was beginning to crack but it still worked great...
Sounds like Sprint.
Ill be AT&T eventually. I literally go months with shiznit on my phone not working just because I dont want to deal with the ra-tards there.
Instinct = shiznitstinct. Hate this phone.
The wife any I are going to be switching to Verizon from T-Mobile. I've had them for 5 yrs now and the plan we're on is rather spendy. Although we do have 4 lines in which 2 are basic service. Too many problems to list and the support stinks. I used to drive semi-trucks all over the states it was a 50/50 chance I'd have service. With the discount my wife gets thru her work, Verizon is the better choice for us.
I had a friend i worked with in browns town Michigan who lived in Del Ray a little community on the waterfront on the outskirts of sw Detroit. His T mobile phone used to get bounced off of Canadian towers all the time, he said that T mobile would not do anything about it either.
