Kitz told me about the oil baffle for the lower intake (Cobra/GT40/Explorer).He sent me a template and I made one.I couldn't find any metal around town today,so,I got a metal "no trespassing" sign.I think it'll work fine.I'll drill the holes when the intake gets here and post more pics at that time. Thanks Kitz. Here are the few pics I took.....

I remember a time when you couldn't post pics.lol
Nice job.
Yeah,me too.LOL.
LOL.... good times.....
I can't believe Lowes didn't have a piece of sheetmetal.
So what does the other side of the baffle look like? Does it still have writing on it? lol
Um..........maybe.LOL.
Take a wire wheel and remove the writing. You dont want that comming off and going into your oil and bearings....
I used that same template for mine:

The first was actually a practice run.I have a real Ford part now.
The Explorer GT40 intake I got from the wreaking yard (internal EGR) had that big baffle on it from the factory......AFAIK the only ones with the little baffle (and oil problem) are the FRPP Cobra intakes.
....and the Typhoon intakes, and the Trick Flow intakes, and a few others....
Vinnie.... could you send me a copy of that template??
what happens if you dont make one?
The original Cobras didn't have it either - I have an original '93 Cobra and it's small. I heard Ford Racing China-made pieces also but nothing about Explorers. Supposedly Ford didn't make these things until the China-castings came out, causing a lot of oil to be sucked up the pcv line. Maybe the Explorer one was factory, maybe not, but it's better to have there any any gt40 than to not have it.
There's a higher chance of sucking valvetrain splattering oil up the pcv valve. With a engine and pcv system running properly, and not a Chinese made replica, there "shouldn't" be any problems. I'd still recommend the larger one if you're going through the hassle of installing a gt40-based intake though.
Give me your email address...........Then Thank Kitz.
You burn alot of oil... I went through 5 liters of oil for the one cat jam I went to. and it was only a 4 hour cruise! was no issues after I made the baffle and installed it.
