Usually i have a great time scavenging around the local boneyard, But today was just plain bleh.
For starters, As soon as i get there it starts raining, Which turns into a downpour.
The i spend the next 3 hours trying to get some parts off that literaly took me minutes to do at home.
At this point i've been underneath a car in the downpour with me feet sticking out, so my shoes are filled with water, and i need to dump 'em out.
I manage to cut my hand on a jagged rotor of all things as i get up.
a car i needed parts off of has just been crushed.
I'm excited to see another SN95 mustang (as i need the spindles) but they are already gone.
The office/register/check-in building is a COMPLETE mess, as half of it will be demolished and turned into more parking tomorrow apparently, so i'm running into every thing trying to get a wheel barrow out.
And they have a new cashier that charged me for EVERYTHING even little ss of no value, and most of it i was not aware of i just figured i would return/exchange later~but i look at the receipt and she rang them up as NO RETURN ON THIS ITEM!!!.
Also, i had a receipt in my wallet and i needed to return a caliper and rotor, but being i was in a downpour under a car for 3 hours~my wallet is soaked, as is the receipt which is not legible anymore... but she insists she must get a certain number off of it. :punchballs:
I did find a nice part for my 351 build (a Carter AFB 4bbl Carb), But i left the old 460/F150 very briefly ready to come back and pull the edelbrock 460 torker intake, and some guy showed up out of nowhere was on it.
Sorry for the rant, Had to vent.
*Meant to post in Lounge >.<
That is a downer of a day, I think when the rain started, call it a day.
To honor you,I'm going to the boneyard in the morning.
Gotta agree. You call pull parts when it's snowing, but rain is just nasty to work in. I have to apologize to you too. I kind of laughed when you said you had to empty out your shoes. I didn't mean to though. :D Better luck next time!!
Heck, if it rains the day BEFORE I want to go I don't.
I hate pulling parts off in the mud.
The junk yards by me are paved so after it rains you can actually, ya know, go in ;)
A PAVED road in a junk yard? I didn't know there was a Beverly Hills in Chicago!
Actually it's in Summit, Illinois. It's fancy :rollin:
I prefer to go when it's lightly raining or snowing. It makes the wasps and yellowjackets dormant. Pouring rain sucks though!
and so does brake cleaner
Alright,in your honor,I'll be pulling into the boneyard at 8:oo this morning.Hopefully I'll find some sweet treasure. My hopes are staying low so I don't suffer any disappointment. On the least of the trip,I hope I get some good stuff for Ebay. This engine project has taken every cent that I had for a/c and window tinting.
Hope all goes well vinnie!
Let me know if you spot any SN95 Mustangs (Spindles more specifically).
And i try to stay away from the 'yard when its raining, But sometimes it's kinda hard when you live up here in the northwest.
And the water shoes was pretty funny i suppose, Gave my dad a good chuckle too. ;)
I agree to..
