A friend turned me on to this site. I have many projects...this is my '87 Turbo Coupe. Picked it up as a fire damaged car that sat for 6 years and was covered with moss. Just finished up my hood and sorting out some of the other details. It's now a 5.0 with 5 speed.
And a nice looking five lug conversion too. I'm glad you took the time to save it. I love to see a clean black TC.
Did you use all SN95 parts for the conversion?
Nice Bird, I have a real appreciation for 5.0 converted TCs....
Is the Dan Gurney Spoiler II yours????
BTW Welcome to the board..
Nice Eye!! most people don't know what that car is ;). Yes, the Dan Gurney Special is mine as well.
On the SN95 conversion I kept the Turbo Coupe lower control arms and used the spindles and brakes from the SN95 along with the SN95 tie rod ends(inner and outer).
Yea this is straying off topic but ....
Cool on the Gurney, I had a R/W Cale Yarbourough SP II years ago but was in poor cond... Wound up selling it to a guy up in Baltimore..
BTW I still have a '69 Fairlane Cobra...

nice looking car man, welcome
Nice Fairlane! Kinda ironic but I am from the Baltimore area originally and that is where my Gurney came from.
Very Beautiful Turbo Coupe! I love the rims and the hood. Care to share any specifics on the hood?
Thanks! I love the rims too but I found another set that I like better so I will change in the near future. The hood is a one-off hood made by us at my shop....we took a stock hood and a wrecked SVO Mustang hood and combined them...so it is an all steel hood. Lots of hours in it but I am very happy with the results.
Well all the hard work has paid off man that looks sweet! and welcome to the board!
I think that is the best non-factory hood scoop I have seen on these cars. Great mod!
WOW.
Great work on the hood!
Welcome.
I am also impressed with the hood, nice to see somthing different and really tasteful.
Those rims actually look like they belong on our birds and cats. They look better on these cars then they EVER did on a Mustang. Was that scoop originally from an SVO? Looks like you've modified it a bit. I like it!
Mighty fine Bird you got there. The hood looks fantastic. SN-95 wheels look way better on these cars than the intended vehicles. ^_^
Welcome.
Yes, I repaired an SVO that had been hit in the front but the scoop section of the hood was not damaged. We cut out the scoop and centered it on the Tbird hood(it was offset on the Mustang hood)..the lines of the scoop were extended slightly up front to match up with the longer tbird hood. I had this scoop for a while and had always intended to try it on a Mark VII but after building so many Mark VIIs I got a little burned out and decided to do a Turbo Coupe and this scoop had lines that complimented the Tbird hood so I decided to try it.
Really clean car. Oh man it looks nice! How about the front air dam? Any chance you would share how you made it or possibly make a few for us to buy? I really like how it goes around the corner. Please, please, please....Thanks.
Nice TC man, almost the same as mine with the 5.0L conversion less the hood and 5lugs.
Was over on your site a few months ago looking at all your pics, sweet.
Aha! It all makes sense now. THis is your site: http://www.svpu.com/index.html (http://"http://www.svpu.com/index.html")
I knew a T-bird with those wheels looked familiar. I think I saw it before you made the hood though.
I love the series of LSC-Rs Very nice.
nice ride, and i thought i was going to be the first one to get those wheels on a car hear... mine will be hear wensday afternoon some time lol. got any pictures of the inside of your svo converted hood? or progressive shots of it being fabed up?
The Front air dam is from an '03 Mach 1 Mustang ;) . Ofcourse I had to modify it to make it work. I am not finished completely yet as I have a bracket to fabricate for the middle. The downside is that as low as my car sits that spoiler is a problem at times with ground clearance :D
Yup, that's me...Thanks! I burned out on building Mark VIIs so I decided to play with the Turbo Coupe for a while. Lots of different projects going on around the shop right now so there will be some interesting stuff coming out soon :D
Welcome to the site Paul. Nice looking car.
Paul, i was actually thinking about trying the same thing with the chin spoiler, glad to see someone actually try it
you think the ones meant for the 94-98's would fit any better?
Hey dude, 'bout time you showed up here! :p
dude that looks great...also love the hood and the wheels yes they do look much better on our cats, fug the mustangs!!! Like Eric has said before, mustangs are jsut parts cars for our beloved cats!!
Thanks all, I am the other half of SVPU... and proud builder of said bird. Paul and I have alot of time trying to think of idea with this car to make it "different" from all the others.... I also have an '88 TC with is about to get a V8 conversion!! Post pics of it soon, and as i go through the buildup.
