Hey guys. I bought some bullet-style high flow cat converters to have installed on the Blackbird. Here's what I'm wondering. I have a Mac offroad H-Pipe (for longtubes) that I was hoping to have the cats welded into.
Here's my question. It obvious that most ler shops won't touch your exhaust if you don't have cats on your car. I'm wondering if I'd be likely to have trouble getting a ler shop to weld these non-OEM style cats on for me. They don't have air tubes, like OEM cats and they don't look anything like an OEM cat. I'm just worried no one will be willing to weld them on for me. What do you guys think?
If a shop won't do it,just find anyone with decent welding skills and a welder to do the work.Around here, there are a lot of guys willing to do work like that on the side for a little extra walking around cash.I'm lucky that the ler shop I go to will do any kind of exhaust work you want.
Since you are installing cats, I don't think most shops would have any problem. They cannot replace a known good cat, or remove the cat altogether.
Shiny Side Up!
Bill
Thanks for the feedback guys. You both made some good points.
