Anyone have pictures of the shifter hole for the T5...I'm curious how much tpuppies needs to be done.
When I first put the T5 in, I didn't have any of the insulation/noise damper and whatnot...I just had the shifter protruding through.
Now that I'm putting things back together...looking for a tip or some such on how much is just right lol.
I got the metal piece with the rubber boot from the TC, and 3 pieces of insulation...just not sure how much of the tunnel I need to cut out. Pics in a few, to describe what I mean.
I started with no hole, then made a whole for the auto, from there I went and put a T-5 in . And it still lined up. If you haven't seen this it's a place to start. There should be a template there you can print.

Ask the guys on the Corral.Cut the floor to the size of the Mustang hole.As I said before,that way,should you choose to swap shifters,you can do it from in the car without having to lower the tranny or even crawl under the car.
This is how I cut mine. I can't swap out the shifter without lowering the trans though. I just clearanced it enough to make it fit.

Vinnie, I'll scout around the Corral a bit, but I have that billet shifter, so I probably won't cut any more than is necessary for the time being. I see what y'all mean about not being able to change shifters w/o lowering the trans, but I don't think I'll be too concerned with it, unless I end up not liking the billet shifter I have...we'll see though.

Since you already have the Sport model (floor shifted)you don't have to cut anything,the shifter will go through the stock AOD shifter opening in the floor.I only cut mine due to shifter swaps.I have gone through three before I found what I liked.
Lowering the trans isin't all that bad. Just remove the 4 bolts for the exhaust retainer. Then the two bolts on the crossmember to frame. then lower the tailshaft with a jack letting the engine rock back. That gave me the clearance I needed.
