Title: Now my luck strikes again...
Post by: Tbird232ci on April 12, 2005, 02:43:00 PM
i knew having a great running car wouldnt last too long...

my car left me stranded, died on me, i get it in a spot, off the side of the road, and fuel dumped down the top of my tank, looks like i get to drop my tank for the third time, down the street, and all this

im seriously pissed, i think i dented my trunk lid, i go to leave to relive myself of some stress, and my car takes a dump

Sounds like it could be something as simple as one of those plastic fuel line clips letting go on you. Hope it is, and not something that ends up costing you money...

After all I went through with the T-Bird last month ($130 3G alt replacement, $130 gas tank, $114 fuel pump bracket) I was hoping the cash hemorrage was over. Today I remembered my licence plate expires April 30th. There goes another $225 :toilet:

Probably is one of the lines that blew off,by the way did the pump fix your problem?

I made sure to smear some motor oil thinly onto the filler neck, rubber grommet and fuel lines, steel and plastic to make sure all the seals stay in good shape.  I suggest you do the same when reinstalling your tank.  Made mine go on a LOT smoother.

yeah, the pump cured the problem, and also created the problem off more pressure than the hose enjoyed

im going to grab a good section of that fuel injection hose, and use that, and double clamp it, should take care of that
