here are a few pics that RDOG posted of his sons car with the stinger tails.  the tails are designed to be used with the offset/offset lers and they come with with a straight cut on the outlet end.  I was there for the mock up and he did the mock up on my TC.  enjoy :D

Now, they are 2 1/2" pipes right? They look small for the car. Almost need to have a set of 3" tail pipes on the car or maybe 3 1/2" tips on the pipes. But they look good on the cars and follow the body lines good.

your very welcome bud.

they are 2.5" pipes and stinger does offer a 3" tail for the thunderbird. I think he offers the 3" for both sides but I am unsure.

A quote from Stingers site

Mustang or Thunderbird 2.5" Tailpipes
Mandrel bent aluminized steel 2.5" Tailpipes for Mustang Fox Body turbo cars.  This goes from the lers to the rear bumper.  Designed to go with the dual exhaust system listed above. Two piece design of Thunderbird tails enhances fit while allowing for the option of a stainless steel tip.
2.5" Tailpipes Aluminized or Stainless Steel (Pair):
Price: $ 175.00-$255.00 Shipped
  Car/Options:
 Mustang 2.5" Aluminized Pair $175.00Mustang 2.5" Stainless Pair $215.00Thunderbird 2.5" Aluminized Pair $175.00Thunderbird 2.5" Stainless Pair $255.00

After looking at the pic again, on Stingers site, I can see the slip fit is at the high point of the arc.

3" - 3 1/2" pipes? its not a ricer, or a diesel engine.  just my opinion.

+1

I think 2.5 is just perfect, any larger would look kinda outa place, unless you have a raunchy big displacement motor or something.:flame:

I had 3" tailpipes on one of my old birds(5.0) and it definitely increased the volume of the exhaust. I must admit it did look good.

The bigger pipe is for the smaller engine :P

No. I put 3" tips on my 2 1/2" cat back for my turbocoupe. The 2-1/2" tail pipes look so small. 3 1/2" might be too big but definatly the 3" tips looked good on my car.Fat pipes for a fat car.

Oh and yes, I do work on diesels where the 5" cat backs are installed with a 6" tip.... nice and loud for sure. Works like a mega-phone.

I was on the stinger site looking at the pipes. How do you mount the hangers for the tail pipes? It does not look like there is a bracket on the tail pipes at all.

Im looking into buying these myself for my 88 sport coupe...after seeing them on a tbird I want them even more! I may go for the cheaper "aluminized" tails and just put some chrome or stainless tips on them.

Thought I would chime in here...I ordered the SS tails from Stinger and they arrived this week..They look good but before I install them I think I will try to polish them up a little more....Anyone have any ideas what I can try?
