Entertainment giant Walt Disney is to buy Marvel Entertainment in a shares and cash deal valued at $4bn (£2.5bn).

The deal means Disney will take over ownership of 5,000 Marvel characters, such as Spider-Man and the X-Men.

Marvel shareholders will get $30 per share in cash plus 0.745 Disney shares for every Marvel share owned.

The boards of Disney and Marvel have both approved the deal, which now needs the backing of Marvel shareholders and competition authorities.

and the world just got a little more pathetic... Disney did a tv series out of a book series I loved and just plain mutilated it, I'm afraid of what they'll do with marvel.

I so miss cartoons and stuff from when I was little when the bad guys and good guys actually got to fight for real instead of with creepy little pokemon things. Censorship for the masses.

Will the pc bs ever end?

Thats it, I will NEVER AGAIN go to a Marvel movie or read anything that will be a molested Disney version of a Marvel comic. I quit >:(

Congrats! I found out a couple weeks ago I was pregnant and am 15 weeks now. I'm sure you can't wait to get them home. Hope the older brothers are excited!

thats a shame or those who are fans of marvel comics and such but they have been g-rated for quite some time.
i gave up on them way back when and basically switched to dark horse and that puppiesananime  when i used to read them.

I don't think it'll make any difference for the movies.They are too big of moneymakers as it is.My son and I love the super hero movies.

I am too. Can't wait to see the newest Iron Man movie (Iron Man was my ultimate favorite). Good thing it beat the Disney buyout...

Disney has made PG movies before.As I stated,I really don't think it'll effect the "Hero" movies.
