Title: Body side moldings.......
Post by: vinnietbird on August 10, 2009, 05:10:24 PM
I need NICE body side moldings...all 6 pieces that fit both sides between the wheels. If they are beat up,torn or have cracked faded chrome,I can't use them.Let me know what you have.TC parts won't work. $$ or trade or both. Thanks guys.

Just thinking though I kinda like your Bird without the moldings along the door.

My car is likely going to go moldingless after the paint refinishing since I cannot find any.

Actually,I kind of like it without the middle mouldings as well, but, that leaves a lot of car without protection from doors being opened by some idiot.I try to park away from people, but even when I do,someone parks next to me anyway.....even in the middle of nowhere.

It's easy to just get some late model thin Mustang moldings that can be painted to match. I think that is a better alternative than dinged up doors.

Has to be T-Bird/Cougar mouldings.Otherwise,it wouldn't match up the front and rear trim.Gotta be "right".

Any here know if the Cougar XR7 Moldings in red, black, and white come already painted or are they paint to match?

Vin I have a pretty nice marker light trim. Has good chrome but has a few little pits in the plastic by the wheel well.

The front and rear fender trim I have installed is really nice. It's the rubber trim between the front and rear wheels I need.I appreciate the try though.

how about a modern trim with chrome just for the door alone.
I see a lot of newer cars with it.
or just something body color that blends into the door but protects it.

maybe like this but body color.

I have actually thought of that idea as well, but,I can't bring myself to do it.I forgot to look when I was at the salvage yard days ago.I'll go back and try again.I'm HOPING to run by a new yard Monday morning on the way to pick Gayle up from the airport in Oklahoma City.Time will be a big issue. If I can't get there, there will always be another day.I could go all TC trim, but, like the chrome better.
