It's just funny they put "Captain Slow" in the passenger set.  I think Hammond would have been a bit more expressive.  James just sticks out like a sore thumb sometimes.  Though it is funny when Clarkson and Hammond rip on him.

He's pretty deadpan, but I love the look on his face near the end when they're going over the jump. His eyes seem to expand....  and expand....  lol.
