Hello
I have determined what my tachometer show 1.5 times greater value when reality., It is 6 cil module , perhaps .
How can I select cil. quantity on the gauge ?
what year car is this?
Hello
It is 88 t-bird, LX ,302, Fully digital instrument cluster.
I think you might want to push the E/M button which will convert the speed to metric. Pushing the E/M button will also correct the fuel quantity to metric as well.
RPM is no depends from english-metric modes
It is quite easy to change the calibration of the digital tachometer, in fact you don't need to modify the cluster at all. The digital tachometer is calibrated by adding or removing grounds to two terminals (called "tach strap 1" and tach strap 2") on the back of the cluster. To make your digital tach work with a V8 you will need to add a ground to the tach strap 1 pin in the back of the cluster. Here's the breakdown:
ground tach strap #1=V8
ground tach strap #2=4-cyl.
ground neither=V6
Tach strap 1 and 2 are terminals 8 and 9 in the grey plug on the back of your cluster. Ground terminal 8 and make sure nothing is connected to terminal 9 and your cluster will be calibrated for a V8.
I checked my tac last night for you and nothing on the RPM scale changed when i hit E/M. I just thought you might be talking about "speed" instead of "tac"
I see now you do infact mean the tac.
