One of the local tracks host an event called "Freaky Friday" and im going to take the sport and see what I can get out of a stock SO that is bone stock. Never had a car this stock so im curious to see how slow it is! lol
Results pending!
16.4 ish i'll bet.
I'll bet around a 17.1. I am curious as well though.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
I was gonna say 16.4 but that's picked already so ill give you a couple 10ths 16.2 high 80s
Well its an 8th mile track. All the local tracks here are.
ran a 12.14 on the 1st pass
then 11.14
and the last run was a 11.10
Of course I got beat on every run by the oposing car but I was just trying to see what it would do. Possibly the slowest V8 I have ever had but hey its a daily driver. I do see an HO conversion in the future though! lol I think the MPH was around 74 or 75. Im not sure if thats right, my girlfriend was supposed to watch the time.
The car is completely stock though so the time isnt that bad I guess.
Still has stock exhaust
Stock air intake
Stock Gears
Stock smog pump
Everything! lol
You were close. His fastest run comes out to a 17.25 :D
You know, I always wondered why Ford put such a wimpy 302 in the Thunderbirds, while the mustang counterparts and the Lincoln got the better motor. Why put a 302 like that in a Lincoln over a Thunderbird?
Good try man, I've been wanting to take my '88 3.8 to the track..but not really wanting to see the times lol.
haha I just wanted to see what the #'s were on a bone stock motor. Wasnt there to win it all! lol
Maybe once my back gets a little better I can get the Camaro back out to the track. Its got about 4 inches of dust on it.
I try;). Maybe this year I am going to try running my car. I'll bet that it will run over 18 seconds. Slower then a escort ZX2 and a ZXwhatever focus.
I don't even want to see my times....a bone stock 3.8 without a ler and 245,xxx miles on it...
my 87 v-6 with over 200,000 would chirp a tire when I floored it. This car will barely chip on wet grass. The rear brakes overpower the motor...
I will be doing my new motor, again, and would like to see what the time difference is with a few mustang add ons. Might end up with some gt-40's and an H.O. cam though. I'm pretty sure the timing is off on the motor and I haven't done an oil change since I bought the car. Only check the oil once. I really want the motor to go.
For a 11.1 1/8, MPH would have probably been in the high 60s...
I run 82mph and am by no means stock...
I didnt see the speed. Thats what I was told it ran.
My car, bone stock with only an HO conversion and stock mustang shorty headers/h pipe (2.73 gears) ran a 10.13 in the 1/8th. That went down to a 9.5 with 3.27 rear gears. Doesn't cost much to turn these into somewhat quick daily drivers with decent gas mileage...I got mid 20s all day long with the AOD.
HO conversion is in the works....
Picking up the cam today....
Buying a truck from my uncle so I will be able to park the Sport for a while to get it all done.
