Can anyone tell me how to remove the clear coat on my snow flake rims. it has stains, pits . 2 wheels are really good ,the other 2 are in fair shape.
i used what is called aircraft remover. It comes in a metal can, and it burns your skin! Be careful, but it works well(as long as you shake it). If you type jpc647 into cardomain, i have pictures posted of the before, during and after.
When I had mine,I smoothed them and polished them. They looked great.
When I had the turbines, I used the aircraft remover and a lot of work.
I found the aircraft stripper today. I comes in a thick antifreeze size bottle with a picture of a B-52 on the front. I tested a small corner of the wheel . I can tell it is strong stuff , the clear coat bubbled and smoked . Cant wait till I'm finished . Thanks people!
You might try doing this to them:

I will be doing this to my snowflakes very soon...
regardless, make sure to take pics before and after!
I always get it done with Castrol Super Clean! That Aircraft stripper works just very nasty stuff. Then depending on the finish you want you can just sand off the clear.
Stuckman.
