In need of a diverter valve for right off the air pump for an 88 cougar xr7 5.0.
if anyone can tell me where I can find one of these. Went to the ford dealership and they told me they do not make / sell them anymore.
Not sure I will be able to pass my e check with mine as it is cracked. Which means no more car :(
Much appreciated if someone can help!!!
Is it on the air pump? I have the whole air pump off my 5.0. I might have the part. Do you have a picture of what you need?
I do not have a picture but it is right off the air pump...
If it's that little can with a vac fitting bolted to the air pump then yeah I have that :D. I can take a pic of it tonight when I get home from work. If that's it let me know and I'll just ship you the whole air pump.
oh my gosh thank you so much! how much are we talking?
Let me take a pic first to make sure it's the part you need;). If it is I'll just ship it and when you get it just pay me what ever it cost to ship.
ok thanks. i talked to my mechanic and he said that sounds about right.
It's on that mess of rubber hose hanging out in the middle of nowhere off the side of the smog pump. Had one get stuck closed on my first Cougar.... Would make for interesting light showsfrom underneath my carat night when I let off the throttle after a few seconds at WOT....
Boom, lol!
Ok I took a pic. Let me know if this is what you need. :D
You guys have emissions checks out there?
Yup that's what I need! Thank you so much...
Yeah e checks are ridiculous! I only have this one left because I'm moving to north carolina this December.
Those should be plentiful to find ,, atleast here.
I have a couple also if that one does not operate.
thunderjet,,
put suction on the vac fitting then see if the check valve opens.,,also hold suction and see if it holds it open.
The valve should work as it did when I pulled the smog pump off 2 years ago. I don't think it would go bad sitting in my gargae for 2 years.
Samantha just pm me where you want it shipped and I'll send it out Monday. I'll just pull the valve off instead of sending you the whole pump.
