Got back today from Bristol. It was about an 8 hr drive back but it was a beautiful day outside. We met up with the tour in Dayton on Wednesday and then went to Somerset, KY on Thursday and Bristol, TN on Friday.
It was a complete blast. There was some rain here and there but overall it was nice weather. Bristol was the best because I got to drive my Mustang on the track!
Here are a sampling of some pics...I took over 300!!

I'd hate to get stuck in the rain in that Mustang.....He doesn't have the windshield sprayers installed. They go on the outside on that particular hood as the stock ones do. A guy in my Mustang club has that hood. It's a nice piece.
Satin paint FTW!!!

Is this anyone's car from the forum? Had a nice paint job and a 5 speed.
I had a mega hard on over this Maverick...turbo straight 6 power. EDIT: This was a show car for Spectre performance...I was going nuts trying to I.D. that motor. My 1st guess was that it was a Toyota Supra motor mainly because they are about like an LS1, people seem to like to slap them into about anything. Turns out I was right!
lol...I actually got behind that guy one day in the rain. He was driving really slow and I couldn't figure out why. Maybe his windshield was crusty. I am not sure what performance mods he had done, but that car looked tough.
motor of the turbo 6 maverick...

and a shot of my gas mileage readout...by the time I got home it was hovering around 27-27.2. Pretty good for a 300 hp v8. Last year I could only muster a 25 or 26 out of it on the way back from Power Tour. During the tour it stayed around 20-22 because I was hot footing it a little bit. lol.

Was that a stock tc in the pic? Modifed, do tell.
it looked stock other than the wheels. Interior and paint were
immaculate.
here is a video (http://"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpC-cNpdr6I") of us going around the track. Don't laugh at our dorky comments...we we're having a hell of a lot of fun and were as giddy as little kids on Christmas morning.
Maverick = Win
Here is a video of some of the burnouts (http://"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWAwGLlBU7U") in front of our hotel in Dayton.
haha I like the burnout in the green el camino with the cooler and all their luggage in the back! lol
Thats my kind of gathering!!!!!
73 AMC Hornet is the yellow one. (O/T but I'm looking for a 1968-1970 Rebel if anyone knows of one out there)
I wanna see more pics. Did you spot the Mk VIIs?
I will work on getting more loaded. I saw the MK VII's one morning when we left but I never saw them after that. I was going to take pics but never could run across them again.

that cutlass is shaging nice.
an 82-85 cutlass is one of the few cars i would sale my Bird to buy. my mother actually had one that same color and i loved it. was supposed to be my first car but she got t-boned (only needed a door and front fender) and ended up saleing it to some random guy for 75 bucks
So may interesting cars - thanks for sharing the pics!
I can't get over that super-slammed bug - holy smoke!
If you notice in one of the pictures there is a little kid standing by it looking in the window...I would guess he was about 3-4 yrs old and the top of his little head was about even with the roof of the car. Yeah it was nuts. It seems to me that that bug has been featured in Hotrod before...I think they really did call it the "squashed bug".
Thanks for posting the pics. I'm not surprised the Mk VIIs were difficult to find, they usually park far away at the edge of everything for some reason lol. I went last year and it was awesome, maybe next year it'll get closer and I'll hit it again.
If my memory serves me correct that bug is maybe about 2' tall. I'll have to see if I can dig up that issue from out in the shop....
That is the last of the AMX line. I believe it's a decked out Hornet.
(see post #21 :D) And the flathead is a late style 8BA with Eddie Meyer heads and intake, 12 volt conversion with later style dist., and Lakes headers. BTW, the AMC is owned by Bob Ashton, with 1970 hood scoop, and 1977 louvers.
That flatty was a work of art. Beautiful car and you should hear it run. Flatheads sound awesome.
Just uploaded a couple of more videos from Power Tour...
Dayton burnouts (http://"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSi7Mz_gQd8")
Bristol (http://"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ljf-SzkHVc")
I never did like '73 and up Chevelles much, but that one was mean as hell and shows they can be made into nice cars. Enjoy.
And here are some more burnouts (http://"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzzdUZ3qRGY")...I had to laugh when I watched this again because of the totally disregard for Johnny Law. We had a few drinks before this and were in a pretty good mood. lol.
They did the same thing (huge burnouts) in Rochester at the tour last year. We watched it from around 8pm until 11:30pm when the cops came flying in. Until then, it was pretty crazy. When we got home, my son said, "Wow, that's the most fun I've ever had with my parents!" lol.
Well its raining here so I'm kind of bored. I uploaded a few more power tour photos to my photobucket account and figured I'd share them.

Lots of old wagons on the tour. This Nomad would make the ideal tour vehicle. Lots of room for all your buddies and their gear.

Pro Touring Cuda. I think it had a V10 viper motor if I remember right. Not really my thing, but people were crawling all over it. I'd bet it was a $150,000 car easy.
Pretty sweet man, keep em coming!

No shortage of 1st gen Camaros. No one can argue that they aren't bad ass cars though.

I better stop with the Camaro pictures. lol.
