I can say I dont like the 4 eye front end with the 87/88 bumper
I also dont think I've ever seen a car with a wiring harness as hacked as that one is. Never seen that many napa fuse holders in one spot either. Unfortunately I didnt get any real good shots of the hacked wiring. Looked like he was tuning it with a voltmeter on the passenger seat so probably using the narrowband O2 sensor.
Hopefully it's just a work in progress and he'll get around to correcting that stuff.I know what the Sport has been through, and I can only imagine what remarks were made around town during the build.
well the way bhazard was telling me this guys way of tuning around going lean(fuel solenoid from nitrous kit) i am not surprised about some of the stuff he does.
To be honest -- I like it.
i like his mesh intake light!!!!
I think the intake headlight thing is really stupid.
Yes this thing is a RIGJOB to the max. The guy is seriously OUT there and well, if he can make it break 14's Id be impressed.
Anyway theres this kid that works at the napa uptown. He has a 2.3 hatch stang. Its a speed density 2.3, not maf, so what, pre-91? Anyway he swapped a TC 2.3 with an ebay t3/t4 (way too big). Hes running the STOCK N/A wiring and ECU with the SD. He said its because he couldnt find the TC computer. Oh yeah hes also running a stock A4LD from the stang. Hes having problems controlling boost and well, all kinds of issues but its drivable.
But to the point, rigjob guy above basically was impressed with the build, and was basically telling this poor kid that the NA electronics were superior to the turbo electronics, and that the fueling issues of running more than 0 psi could be solved by running a nitrous solenoid to the intake on a pressure switch, set at whatever psi you start leaning out at.... supplied with fuel.
Yeah.
Instead of doing it right.
Lets just rig it up some more.
By the way vinnie, its NOT a WIP. This is his car, how he drives it. I havent noticed anything change since I first saw it a couple years ago. Except for his DVOM narrowband setup. LOL
I've gotta go with Paul on this, I kinda like the four-eye front end with 87/8 bumper. His particular installation could certainly use improvement (some support under the bumper cover to cure that waviness under the header panel) but I like the concept.
I too like the ram air headlight. Would love to get ahold of one.
i like the 4 eye front end on the 87/88 too, i never knew it could be done though to tell the truth.
i guess that explains the 87-88 cougar that i see running around with a 4 eye front....
I'm seriously looking for one of those 4-eye intakes now... I wonder if he made it himself, cant find anything about it.
its probably one of those little wire headlight covers like they used to have in j c whitney on top of the headlight bucket. Maybe the only neat thing he did to that car
Uh its cool and all but that would mean he has no air filter..... Smart? Don't think so. Think about all the things that go through that intake......
Is that parkway plaza? off of the Anthony Wayne Trail looks eerily familiar.
yeah it is.
You can see the filter box behind the light in some of the pictures.
ah i used to visit that religiously every Friday at around 6 last year. I should start goin again even though i don't have my fox up and running.
Why do his PRC shock covers sit so high? Mine sit flush...
actually the air inlet goes into his inner fender and back into the engine bay into the turbo. Kind of a strange setup.
Hmm, interesting. I wouldn't want to be the guy that bought that after he owned it thats for sure.
I wonder if he is thinking about selling.
