ive got my hands on a set of american racing 8 hole rims.... all of them are on the bead except one it is the right size wheel and everything, i just don know how to pop the bead so i can air up the tire.... the inside is a we bit rusty, ive sed it down 5 or 6 times it just wont pop up.... any idea on how this can be made easier?
im to cheap to take them anywhere and i have a WEAK air compressor :hick:
Find some thing like a ratchet strap about 1 in wide wrap ir around the center of the tire and tighten it down. This should push the side walls out far enough to air them up. You could also try liquid soap on the bead.
are those the same rims that are in my profile perhaps?
nah
TryTHIS (http://www.big-boys.com/articles/bigboystire.html) ...lol
thats some funny stuff man!
done it.....still wont go..... but, i wasnt realy focused today it might work better tommarow.......
Thats a good way to get yours self killed.
But thats funny.
I worked in tire shops for years and everyone said people do that but I have never seen it work.
Have you removed the valve core from the stem?
whoops no i didnt think of that :hick:
iv seen that done before a few times, spray some hairspray around the bead and light it, the pressure difference cauzes it to bead itself instantly but its gotta be cold out.
theese are my new rims

those are the same rims in my picture.....check this one out, not a very good picture but yeah http://www.coolcats.net/photos/index.php?ID=94
yeah? i couldnt see 'em ,schweet, you wouldnt know where to get some center caps for them would ya?
no I only have two, also I have bent up my front one  I have looked al over for them. I think that my best bet would be hubcap heaven. If I see some there when I go in a week or two, I'll see if I can get some extra if you want me to
dude we are the same! i only have 2 caps...... heh
and i still cant get a bead on one of them and one is leaking.....
Dish soap has always worked for me. Also a shot of gas around the bead (with the valve stem out) and a match works but is not recomended! also seen it done with starting fluid...
By chance are those 14" Rims? I think those are the same ones i have on my 87 TC. Only 14" rims I've ever seen that will fit on a TC. They might be different ones, but I know for sure that the ones on my car are 14".
they are 15's , i think.......
i got it to bead finally and i noticed there is a big gaping hole in the tire :hick:
mine are 14's, but they are generic with 8 bolt holes so yeah.
