has any ever used the cheap ($30 to $50) exhaust "pipe expander" tools available Harber Frieght, Grainger, etc? Are these for flaring an exhaust pipe in order to slip on a 2 bolt ball /socket type ? or are they for making the pipe so you can slip it over another pipe?
there for slipping one pipe into another. usually you can but a ball d pipe from an exhaust shop or parts store. Like a napa=]
Those tools are junk. Cant open it enough by hand and if you use an impact they become many pieces.
Yeah, they're only for removing the dents caused by clamps, and they don't even do a very good job of that. They are not capable of "bumping up" pipe diameter so you can fit two pipes of the same size one inside the other
unless you buy exhaust parts from advance.,, then yes mine works. I broke one , returned and repeated expanding and it worked. Not good for any serious tubing though.
you would get more done with a hamster eventually spinning the pipe out to the right diameter.
you can also rent them from advanced....
