Title: New adapter brackets convert from drum to disc and more
Post by: RDOG on June 05, 2009, 12:42:39 PM
Guys here are complete pics of these brackets installed. They are for multiple use.
1)If you have a 7.5 drum or 8.8 drum, it allows for easy conversion to disc using lincoln mark seven 12" setup or 93 Cobra 12" mustang setup

2) Allows SVO guys to step up to 12" brakes using lincoln or Cobra. If you have drums the conversion can use lincoln setup and it moves wheels .5 inches in for allowing for a larger wheel!

3)Easy conversion for anyone wanting to take the 7.5 or 8.8 to go from drum to dics. pics shown are using 94-95 mustang axels

4) brackets are made of billet aluminum and best, hardest, and safest aluminum for this conversion, and they only weigh roughly 2.5lbs.

I think this is a great idea. what do you guys think and cost. Keep in mind that it allows you to go to your local jy and grab the brake setup from a mark VII or other ford 12" setup. No more 1000 dollar conversion necessary and easy swap. Plus it allows SVO guys to run wider wheels with no "sticking out" look or allows you dump/lower with stock size wheels-no fender rub for stock

I'm a bit confused as the Mk7 stuff is nothing like the SN-95 Mustang rear brakes.

Looking @ those brackets, your choice for brakes is the Mk7/SVO stuff.

Very nice... Anyone know how much the stock brackets weight? What is the potential price range (North Racecar brackets are going for $150)? Any issues with not running anti-moans? Any interest in making brackets for the SN-95 Cobra setup? :D

They work with sn95 axels and conbra setup for a  93. Thinking of getting $195 a set.

How?

The 93 Cobra used the same rear (small) discs as the 87-88TC.  The calipers were similar to the 87-88TC and nothing like those on the Lincoln/SVO's.

What rotor are you using? Is the SVO and the Cobra rotor offset the same?

I like the product, and am considering it, but the issue is, you can buy a FMS Cobra kit in the rear for 180, which comes with brackets, dust shields, and rotors. I understand you have to cover the CNC costs, but that is a touch hard to swallow.
