Looks like I have officially given up on my project. It's a shame, because when finished, it would have been a really great car to have. Not to mention all the time and money invested to get it this far.
I hope to stay here, hang out and chat. I guess you never know what may happen years from now.
Jim
Now,why can't you keep it ???
I could keep it, but the list of reasons to quit outweigh the reasons to continue.
too bad man, I hope you change your mind. If you don't, at least try to sell it to someone on the forums so it stays in good hands.
Thanks, but it has already been decided. There is a good chance the turbo system and top end of my motor are already sold. For now, the car is only listed here, NATO and turboford. Once I get the running gear out, it will be posted everywhere.
same reason im quitting smoking.
its a shame you decided against it. im sure it would have been a bad ass car. any other projects otherwise?
I would just set it aside for the winter if I was you. Trust me, I understand how you feel, I was close to quiting my project too, between work and wanting to spend more time with the family I had months go by that I didn't even touch it. Than I finally did start my car and it ran like ass, which really took the wind out of my sails. Right now even with all those issues I can see a little light at the end of tunnel but I'm sure more snags will come they aways do. I'd like to say I'm ready for them but who knows I might have to take a step back, regroup and jump back in when I'm ready to battle the car gods again. Theres alot of us going through it, your not alone :)
I know you made your mind up already Jim and your just trying to justify selling everything, just try and visualize completing the car, driving it, running it at the track. If that makes you happy and excited than you should stick with it. If you don't care if it runs or is finished than screw it sell it all.
Just don't sell anything till your sure. I'd wait till after the summer and decide come fall. Its been this long whats the rush?
If you can afford to and have the space it might be worth it in the long run to just put a cover on it for a bit like others have said.
I know exactly what you guys are saying. I have been tossing the idea around for awhile now, so it's been well thought out. I sat down with a pencil, did some calculating, of time and money, and decided that I did not want to continue. I had a good plan from the start, but it just got out of control.
The car has sat in the extra garage space since I've had it and will sit there until it is sold.
Jim
Soryy to hear-I've seen your car in person and love the way it was coming along. Good luck on your next project.
Ken
Thanks Ken. Long time no see. Looking for any more parts? j/k
Jim
i never have, and never will do this. it is impossible to justify any hobby this way; especially a car hobby.
I wasn't looking to justify it. I have spent way more money on cars than I will ever admit. It wasn't just a money factor, trust me. I consider time with my family worth more than anything.
