Just bought this 88 Thunderbird 5.0/Auto 86k orig miles Guy was asking $1100 for it and I handed him $800 cash and he took it. I think I got a good deal. Only problems are the center arm rest, and leaky valve covers. It was worth $800
*will have better pics when it quits raining here, these are from the craigslist post*

Then I got this "land yacht" from a family friend that wanted it out of her yard! I gave her $100 because I felt bad for taking it since I found out it had a running 400 in it. It is a low mile car also, 87k
She weighs in at 6,143lbs and a whopping 18.5ft long!

Then is my 88 t-top mustang that is a never ending project. Has had many motors in it but I havent got the HP im looking for yet so it sits under a cover with no engine! lol Hopefully it will be getting new paint by the end of the month.

Then I have a 71 Camaro (i know its a chevy! just kinda ended up with the body so decided to race it so here is the end result, 640ci 8-71 supercharger, alcohol injected, dart block and heads, the local dyno machine at a shop near by is only rated for 1200hp, pegged that on the 1st pull. This is all I got for now! Enjoy!

I agree, you defenately got a good deal on the Bird. I'd say by looks of the interrior it's a sport model. It has the sport seats and center consol, plus auto on the floor, nice! The LTD looks to be in really nice shape as well. That's cool you pegged the numbers on the dyno!
Again I say welcome! Nice rides man!
Welcome!!!!!! im sorry but that chevy is BAD A$$!!!!!!!(at least the motor!!!!!) LOL!!!!
May I suggest you swap some parts from the Chevy to the yacht (just the bug catcher and wing)? Okay, go ahead and add the blower to that list.
Looks like you got a great deal on the T-bird. Should make a fun car.
BTW I don't think that the LTD weighs 6,143 lbs. Maybe more like 4,000 lbs. The 6,143 lbs rating you see on the door tag is the GVW, not the actual weight of the car.
Sweeet, I just noticed your T-bird appears to be a Sport! Nice!
I hope the T-bird and Mustang end up half as nice as that 71 Camaro.
thanks for all the compliments guys!
I wish I had half the money thats in that camaro to spend on the bird and the mustang! lol
Not sure about the thing in the door on the LTD I have never actually looked because I was just in a bad wreck where I borke my back so I dont get out much. (thats why the stang isnt done yet) I did get out to go get the t-bird though! Couldnt pass that up! Not for $800
Yeah I have been told by a few people its a sport model.
I will get some better pics tomorrow since it finally stopped raining here in NC.
btw, my name is Jay also! lol
Welcome aboard !!, you have stumbled upon a very cool sight...........got some nice rides by the way.
I would love to take that camaro down the track a couple times, I also see that you are from NC - where abouts?
You don't even need half the money thats in your Camaro to bulid a nice t-bird.
Here you go a site that has some stuff you need to drop a 460 in that bird.
1983–88 T–BIRD AND COUGAR PARTS
1983-88 T-Bird & Cougar fiberglass hood, our ram air style - $350
Front bumper brace (inside facial cover) - coming
Motor mount kit with 460 - $129
Headers with 460 using our motor mount kit - $359
Crossmember - $99

Thanks, for about 100k you can take it down the track as many times as you want! lol
I am from Hillsborough NC, Near Raleigh/Durham
Like everyone's said, nice t-bird! I myself like the Camaro a hell of allot more, being a Camaro fan. But you did get a sweet deal on the t-bird though. Good luck & have fun with all of them!
Thanks man!
I bought the bird not knowing much about them. I figured since it was so close to a mustang I could figure most of it out but what I didnt know is there is no aftermarket support for these cars! Which sucks!
Here's a suggestion, sell the Chevy and put the money in the Fords!! lol. Welcome and congrats on the new bird.
I know what you mean. I went through 5 sets of headers trying to get one to fit correctly until I figured out that Cougar's have bigger motor mounts then Mustangs. That's one thing I like better about Chevy. There less difficult to work on & you don't have to buy special tools just to do it.
I love the 75? LTD i had one as my first car. thing freakin flew
haha it is suprisingly quick to be so big. Mine is a 77
Glad to see you joined over here! Good job posting plenty of pics too. Welcome aboard.
Thanks, this guy is the reason I bought my tbird. He also showed me the website. He has helped me out alot with learning about the car. Great guy!
No one likes him. Stick around for a while. These cars are decent.
I assume your joking? lol
No he's not. That guy is such a jerk ;)
there's hardly any aftermarket support, but that fact keeps the uninspired away from these cars. =P gotta have love for em and appreciate em to be willing to put up with em at times.
:flip: @ you guys!
:rollin:
Idk who said it, but I haven't found the car hard to work on really. It's much nicer to work on than dad's 85 TA.
Us NC guys have to stick together! lol Doesnt look like many people from NC on here.
