That looks great man.. i just really hope that they stay like that.. after driving it a lot you might find that the bondo may crack at the seams.
Looks really good, hopefully the lisc plate isn't staying in that local.
I'm jealous as hell, I'll admit it lol.
now it needs more in the wheelwells! still sweeeeet.
I like it! Where did you get it? And how much if you don't mind?
You did some really nice work.Good job.
I got it in Nov 08, out of a barn. Came with the ground effects (Mck Kit) that was installed but never primed or finished. I took them off until now as I've had some time to work on it :) I paid $900 for the ground effects- car came with them :)
License plate will be moving to the center.... eventually.
That's awsome! At that price you defenately got the car for free!
bondo will vibrate loose, next time use a fiberglas resin and some duraglass.
looks freakin sweeeeet.
where could I buy a kit like this for my 88 that i just bought?? Very interested in getting one
that's hawt.
There was a link a while back, with a a site to buy those,.. but i really dont think they are still avaiable.......Go to search, and type in body kit... then look for posted threads by 88turboeric......pretty sure thats where the link was...he was going to make more from his, but cost/labor.. was way too much...
That will crack faster as well, trust me. there is no real way to mold in two different types of materials and have it last without cracking, the difference in flex between them prevents that. Never mold them in, I learned that from my Stang I had with the DECH body kit. looked great when I bought it but after a month it started to crack.
http://www.wickedbodies.net has a kit, i don't know if i like it though. That's the only company that I know of that still produces one. I'm not going to paint it for a couple months so I can work on them some more and see what problems occur and fix them before paint. I'll probably end up using a lot of fiberglass to make sure they will never crack :)
Body kits on these cars aren't my cup of tea, but that's definitely one of the best looking ones and it looks like you did a great job installing them. Car is gonna look awesome when it's painted and has some nice wheels filling up those fender wells :) .
As nice as this car looks with the kit on, it could easily be just as smooth without it. It's the decluttering of the molding on the bumpers that makes all the difference. The absence of the side moldings, coupled with the side skirts molded in, is what makes this such a clean looking 'Bird.
One of these days, someone will get the money and the desire to have new bumper covers made that eliminate the molding, or blend it into the bumpers better. That's what these cars have screamed for since day one.
Until then...this is a preview. And me likes a LOT.
:roxor:
amazing how that car can look modern and classic at the same time
