Title: 2.3turbo a/c compressor/NEW pics of Install

Does any one know what other cars a/c compressors would work on a 88 turbo coupe.My youngest son has bad asthma and the compressor went out need a new one and the parts stores cant get a new one for the 2.3 turbo. let me know thanks all

Those HR980 compressors where discontinued. So finding a new one won't be much fun. Then I remember seeing an kit to change to a different style compressor but never looked into much. Try looking on ebay or places like that. Good Luck.

bought mind on ebay-about 60 days ago- converted to r131- cold ac-works great-ebay store acpartsguys-will take best offer of $119 plus $19 ship- new-nos-ford part # e3dz19703b-model hr980- listed under 1983-88 mustang-make sure to retro fit with new type freon-compess is a direct fit- come without clutch- use and change over yours-or buy one from him- take care of the kid-sal

went to a local junkyard bought a 5.0 compressor and the hoses with it . did a little fabing cut and brazed the high pressure line to fit .same with the compressor to get it mounted in place . flushed the system with nitrogen added oil and freon . started the car and cold air . i will take pics soon

Xok i know the low side line is in a bad spot but that will change this is just a trail run to see if the compressor mounting would hold up and fix any bugs before making it final
