what's the difference between "flat" and "satin"? I thought they meant the same thing(?). Also, everytime i've ever used flat black paint it turned chalky after awhile. is there a way to avoid this?
Flat is a no-gloss paint. Satin is a low gloss paint.
What he said!!!! lol got the question from my thread huh????? but yeah satin is like having a mild gloss, but still not as dull as flat .....
to keep flat from getting chalkey, you need to put a flattening additive in regular auto paint or clear coat.
can you control the 'flatness' when you use a flattening agent? as in, if you use less flattening agent will your finish be satin.....if you use more will your finish be flat?
Yep, that's how you do it.
