Truck intake huh... Any real reason why you didnt swap? Looks like you have had some progress on it. Trust me I doubt you would bore any of us with your projects.
Original color an avocado green? Sure you dont want to paint it back to that?
So this is how its sits now awaiting final paint and a good detail.Ive pt about 600 miles on it since i got it back running it's my idea of a perfect "driver car"I actually put this car together to replace my cavalier daily driver but it is turning out a little nicer then what i first planned.
yeah the truck intake flows better then a car version plus i was told it would never work,And since the motor is very close to stock I tried to use all the "stock" speed tricks.Other then a set of long tube headers and exhaust it is a stock H.O motor with a stock aod backing it up.
Im not a green kinda person I spent months looking at paint colors before settling on 71-74 medium yellow gold.
Here is a maverick in the color I have chose
Why wouldnt it work? Space? Nothing a sawzall cant fix there. It makes sense since the intake isnt smashed flat. How does it flow in comparison to and Explorer intake?
I was just kidding about the green. Im not a big fan either, dont like yellows either but that one looks nice. I think because of the darker shade and shape of the car
everyone said it would be way too tall,It is tall but livable.I have no idea compared to the exploder intake
I was torn betwen orange and yellow so i went dead center ;)
Nice rebuild, Welcome back
Thats awesome man, I always liked Mavericks but they rot all around me.
I knew you were hiding something cool from us. you always do ;)
Nice... Great work...
Got a friend that's getting into Mavericks(actually he has a Comet & a Mav)... His Maverick is a one owner '72 Grabber, 302 and three in the floor... Got like 54,000 miles on it...
Just a little change of pace for me.
I'm still in awe to the 429 bird you built a while back. that thing just looked awesome.
the same motor now resides in my F100 BTW;)
you amaze me:bowdown::bowdown:
Good to see ya again. I'm diggin the way that motor looks under the hood with the truck intake.
Yea that looks SICK! Also the color choice verrry nice. I love that combo. I really like the Grabber mavericks and just mavericks in general. Got muscle car looks but not a muscle car pricetag.
plop plop new stance
:flip:
Looks awesome. Did you tuck the front bumper back? Ever thought about tpuppies the ends so there isnt as much over hang?
yeah,Ive thought about tpuppies it but since it isnt covering the side markers i may leave it be
the stance of that mav is nasty........ do you still have the bird???? id like to see the pics with the 429...........if someone could post a linky... thatd be cool too!!!!!
Bird is sitting in a buddies garage its no longer mine.It's pretty sad to see it now bug me bad everytime i go over there.
:mad::punchballs:
429 huh? Buddy of mine wants me to help him drop a 429 into his 89 Mustang GT, should be fun :D.
Its very easy. A tubular k member will make life better.:D
4K post... woot!
So is that 5.0 in the Mav a roller engine?
Sweet mav! I've always liked them. My parents had I believe it was a 74 grabber. Red with black stripes. I wanted that car real bad!! but instead of letting it be my first car they sold it for $300.00!! I know it needed some work but I was very upset with them for getting rid of it. Especially for that price.
