Title: Old Stangs heart, new life for the Cougar
Post by: mcb82gt on May 10, 2009, 07:21:39 PM
I took my old Mustang motor out to put in my Cougar.  Edelbrock Alum Performer heads, 1.7 RR, full exhaust will go on the Cougar.

Intake will be Explorer/Cobra, or maybe ported by Tmoss.

It will stay AOD, 3.27/3.55 rear gears.

Anybody got some insight for a Cam, and stall speed ??

This is a daily driver wanting good MPG.

If you're looking for mileage, I'd stay with the stock H.O. cam.

Looks pretty nice. Bet it will run pretty hard.

Am I leaving alot on the table performance wise, sticking with the HO cam?  Heads and intake will support alot of airflow.

I'd go tfs-1 cam, my old 306 ran nice with that cam and the eddy heads, good idle... Nice power and cheap
