Title: Calipers for 88 T-bird
Post by: MeanGene on April 03, 2005, 02:21:01 PM
Thinking of getting the Lincoln MK VII calipers with the 73MM steel pistons.  I have the spindels from a 90 GT and turbo coupe wheels. I am getting set to do the 11" rotor upgrade.  I was wondering if I could use the MK VII calipers now on the stock 10" setup.  Then when I am ready to upgrade I can change out the spindle and rotor.  Is the mounting the same and just further away from center or is it different enough that I will have to do it all at once.  Since changing a caliper is easy I thought I could change one piece at a time, that way I could make sure everthing works before going on.

It seems that there are differences.  If I get rebuilt MK VII calipers to use with the GT spindels, what else am I going to need.  I know new brake hose and pads, but will I also need shims and caliper bolts?
