My buddy took me for a ride in his 88 TC and I hit e-bay, I turned up a gem too. An 88 TC and possiably the cleanest one you could ever hope to see save the interior it looked like it just came out of the showroom.

E-bay T3/T4 shockingly with a leaky rear seal. Since replaced with an IHI

The plan is for a locally competitive ESP auto-x car and a nice fun DD that I can go play with on the weekends. A full suspension redo is in the works.
The second one:
88 TC originally to be used as a parts car but its way too nice to s so its being entered into the Grassroots Motorsports $2009 challenge

Ill turn up a pic of Bryan's black 88 TC one of these days
fully converted apparently; TC's multiply, be careful! :hick:
there are a few of us who autoX out thundercats, welcome to the addiction.
Welcome and you have made me a jealous fellow. I am shooting for the $2010 challenge.
Yeah Im an addict
gumby any suggestions for suspension I was thinking about the summit kit for the mustang with Chuck W's rear shock brackets
i would be very careful if you are trying to stay in a specific class(ESP). make sure your mods fit into the class rules.
having said that, i would hafta research ESP, cause i did the opposite. built my car the way i wanted, classes be ed, and ended up in SM.
Suspension wise the classes are mostly the same the only difference being you guys can change geometry where everything in ESP must mount in the stock location save shocks mounts which can be lengthened.
Not sure about the rules since I'm in the same boat as Gumby. For ESP, go this direction within the limits of the rules.
Go a little stiffer and lower on the springs, but not much. Wider wheels and sticky tires. New bushings. Adjustable Konis. A slightly shorter axle ratio, 373s-456s, depending. Concentrate on getting the motor to breathe - open up the exhaust, crank the boost, and make sure the I/C is getting good cooling crossflow. Maybe run a vent hose to the bottom of the I/C, look at what Gumby did with his hood scoops. Get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. You might get better performance with a larger plenum.
Are subframe connectors legal in ESP? Maybe you could argue it isn't a performance option, just reinforcing the body because it's so old and rusty. (Yes, I know somebody that argued that successfully for stock class.)
Oh yeah, welcome.

I dont know, when I was trying to figure out what class I would be in when I first got my car that had a boost controller and k&n, and caster camber plates, they said i'd be in SM just because of the boost controller. I dont know what you will find though, kinda depends on the organization
Looks like it recieved some love. I wish you luck in your endevor
check out http://www.cheperformance.com they have probably the best control arms available and they are made to fit our cars.
A boost controler used to bump you to SM however the rule changed this year. I have a feeling that 08 was the last time you'll see ESP dominated by American muscle
