Title: PV Clearance
Post by: CatCarMan2012 on May 04, 2009, 02:54:11 PM
I am setup to do a PV Clearance check.  I have a few questions.

I have made a set of check springs that fit perfectly and do not compress the Hydraulic lifter.

1.  Am I supposed to install a HG when I do the check?  Seems like a waste of a perfectly good HG.  Not to mention all the cleaning sing involved in removing it when I am finished.

2. Can I just do the check without the gasket and add my compressed gasket thickness (0.038) to my clay reading?

3. I have 1.6 roller rockers.  Will they clear the stock Valve covers?  If not, is there a valve cover I can buy that will clear the rockers but let me keep the stock efi intake?

I am planning on replacing the stock intake but I have run out of cash for right now.  I was hoping to not have to buy 2 spacers (one for the stock intake and one for the replacement).

Thanks!
DZ

1 & 2 :  Yes.  That is correct to do.

3.  Stock aluminum HO covers -- yes.  You will most likely have to remove the oil baffle however.  The stamped steel covers will not clear.
