Title: Welp, That was a fun day...
Post by: 1WLD BRD on May 03, 2009, 09:12:17 PM
Todays events with the Coug killed my clutch.. Ran it on the Dyno then went home and made 6 passes at TMP (drag strip)....

Now the Clutch is slipping, so... What are some reccomendations, for a decent but cost effective (read "cheap") replacement clutch.... This one was just a no namer and only lasted about 10 months.... the first time I took it to the track last spring I had to adjust it and I felt it wearing...

Thinking of either a King Cobra, or Center Force....

Kingcars has a centerforce and I know he has nothing but good to say about it, grips like hell etc.

If you're not doing anything else performance wise to the car -- Spec Stage 2.

When I replaced mine, I called D&D in Wixom MI.  I filled them in on my combination.  Asked if I would run sticky tires at the strip (yes).  They highly recommended the King Cobra.  Price point was reasonable compared to alternatives I looked at.  Pedal feel is light.  I've been pleased with it's performance.

Nice job on getting into the 13's!
