Can the amount of turn be limited to keep the wheels from rubbing on the arms?

On the vert. It has 40s on it and the fronts just catch the arms when the wheels are turned all the way.

not really,  your stuck with it and most people just dont turn all the way.  The only time you run into that is from a parking position and need out.  Turning all the way is hell on the P/S pump anyway.

While laid off, i kept up by doing car work in the garage.  The guy had the same problem as you. I explained it the same way and he said,, but I still dont want it rubbing anywhere.

My solution, I welded nut on the A arm that was in the perfect spot so when the rim came around, the rim contacted the nut which allowed room for the tire to not make contact.  I just poped the outter rods out and unlocked the steerng wheel so i could move everything easy to mic out where the nut would go on each side.

just a idea.

YES YOU CAN !!!! Go to Ford, pick up a pack of steering rack limiters. They are plastic discs that snap on to the inner tie rods and act as stops to limit the travel of the steering rack.Genuine Ford parts, and fairly cheap. That's exactly what they are made for. They will probably have to be ordered, but that's not an issue.
