Title: HO cam vs F150 cam
Post by: 88turbo on April 21, 2009, 08:53:43 PM
I have a 96 5.0 roller E7's and I am unsure of which cam to use to make the most torque/power I asked a few questions on the small block forum but nobody seemed to know anything.  this engine will be carbed with an edelbrock performer intake and a 1406 carb with long tube hooker competition headers.  ideas and opinions welcome

That cam has the same exhaust duration as the HO cam, but 20* less intake duration...it's the same cam that's in the Explorers and their peak power is *claimed* to happen around 4200 with "P" heads.
If you're using stock E7 heads, it may fall off a little sooner than 4200.

Good luck,
Don

If you have both cams I'd stick the HO one in ;)
