Title: What to do about drivers window falling forward as it's lowered?
Post by: quick50stng on April 20, 2009, 10:24:19 AM
What is the fix for a window falling forward as the window is lowered? What is the BEST method to remove the door panel? I had an 85 bird once and had to basically disassemble everything on the door and busting the armrest plastic in the process.

I had this problem - the front clip was still holding the window but the rear of the window had its sleeve that it slides in messed up. The fix: pull the door panel off, push the sleeve back up where it belongs, and put new adhesive on the rear window clip.

if it came off of the forward clip, make sure when you put it together you use a good adhesive.  I think I've had my door panel of at least 3 times to fix this in the past few years.  Last fix lasted about 2 years so far.
