Who's all going this year?
I'll be there. I tried to find out myself who all was going but no one wanted to respond. Are you going?
I'm in -- as always :burnout:
I'll probably go that sat.
I'll be there.
hmmm, when and where? That's the carlisle all ford event right? Never been.
i might make it. got to see what cash looks like for it.
1st weekend in June, the 5th, 6th, and 7th...

I'll be there, but once again car-less. Last year we drove our Milan into the grounds and two years ago it was my diesel F350! I'm not registering this year, but will be walking in.
its been years and years since ive been, and i didnt drive then. but whats the deal with parking?
You mean parking outside the fairgrounds? If so, drive down any of the side streets and pay $10 to park for the day and walk in.
Hopefully I can make it this year, I havent touched the bird since last sept. When I went to where I store it, it had 2 flat tires and the Optima battery was dead. I just bought a house so hopefully I can get it home and get her running for carlisle this year.
Off topic, but speaking of Optima batteries it seems everybody I know that's ever had one only gets about 3 years of life out of them....Is that common?
mine only lasted about 8 months....piece of !
My last battery lasted 9 years. That included a few years where the Cougar was my ONLY car.
I seen my share of bad deka's lately to. I seen some last to!
Eric, you taking your car in to the show?
ill be there the entire weekend with my tc.
hope to see some good fox tbird's and coug's this year!
i love carlisle been going for over 15 yrs!
but only the past 8 with my cars.
I'm taking a car to the show. Don't know which one yet. Might be both, who knows...
I would love to go to Carlise some day...but if I ever did I guess it would have to be in lieu of CatJam. I just couldn't drive up there and back twice in one summer!
Now with the Cat Jam news, I'd really love to check out Carlise - but wouldn't you know it...the school district I work in doesn't start summer vacation until June 5th this year :(
June 5th = 1st day...It WOULD be quite a feat to drive up from Texas in time...
I was going to mention to those of you who were planning on catjam should try to go to Carlisle. It's a huge show 2-3000 cars easy!
Yep i was planning on CJ09 this year for my first time out. But with the bad news looks like carlisle is going to be the next best thing for us to go out and show just how different these cars are to the rest of the world. I v been to the ford show there once before and i hope everyone dont mind seeing ALOT of mustangs. Since there alot easier to find parts for. Just shows it takes a special breed to do up the fox cats and birds=]
its very common. i worked in autoparts for almost 10 years and getting 3 years out of them is better the the normal 1 year. after seeing all the problems with them 'll never use one. you can put a battery tender on the or take it out and store it they still die. and most of the only have a 1 yr warranty i think the red and blue top. and i think the yellow has a 3 yr maybe but dont hold me to that
well ill be there. cougar won't be there since im replacing the crank in it. But ill be there possibly with parts in tow. it would be great to meet everyone!
Not for nothing, but I registered quite a while back for this and as of yet have not received that off-white piece of oak tag they print your registration info on yet. I usually have it by now...
I didn't get anything from them either.
I regestered on line back in january. When the invoice page came up it say's across the top that they don't mail receipts, to print the page as a receipt. So that's all I have. I guess if you mailed it in, you'll just tell them your name at the regestration building.
I seen that and thought the same thing.
Guess I'll print out the confirmation e-mail they sent me then....
I really enjoy this show, but the nickel and dime type penny pinching done over the past few years is a negative in an otherwise all positive experience. Remember what used to come in that goodie bag you got 5 or 6 years ago? Now think about last years bag....Quite a difference.
Probably get coupons instead of products.
After months in the shop, I just got my car back last night, so I wasn't sure if I would be able to bring it. I'm still not sure, as there is still a vacuum problem affecting the A/C (I'll fiddle with it on Monday). It is possible to just bring the car on, say Saturday morning and register at the event?
Yep, sure can. I don't know if there is a cutoff time, probably noon-ish, but if you get there early enough there won't be a problem.
I just booked my hotel reservations. The Ramada is booked out for the weekend, but the Comfort Inn on Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg has rooms available.
I just had to cancel my plans for Carlisle. I had to bring my cat to the Vet today. He apparently lost a fight the other night, and got an infection. Now my Carlisle funds are gone. I blame my cat.
Sounds good. It's two hours max to get there, and the way the weather is looking I'm planning to spend Saturday out there.
Not to hijack this thread but anyone going to Quarter Aces dragstrip Friday? If you are, I'll be running the staging lanes. Please stop by.
I'll be at Carlisle on Saturday. Won't be bringing my car. I'll be parking outside the gate and walking in.
The plan is to attend. The drag radials are ready.
V8 Demon, you bring the mustang? Please stop by and say hi. I know I will be busy but will at least say hi. My name is Larry.
I'm running trophy class. So someone will be filling in during my runs.
I'll look to see ya. I will most likely get there around 2:30pm.
Ugh....Rain, rain, and more rain forecast for Friday.....I'm SO glad I clay-barred the car so I could drive through a monsoon:mad:
See you guys tomorrow.
Paul, Have fun and be safe on your trip to Carlisle and take lots of photos for us folks that can't make it there dude. :D
Photos are a given:
Packed items include:
-Digital SLR camera and 4 lenses and 12 GB worth of memory cards
-Point &shoot camera with 4 GB memory
-The laptop -- free WiFi @ the hotel
-2 cloth fold up chairs -- the ones that fit in the bags
-SCT Xcal2
-Actron OBD-II scanner -- it's ObD-I compatible as well ;)
-(2) 5 gallon buckets full of cleaning supplies to include about 75 microfiber towels -- 50 or so are unused (the others are fresh from the dryer). They may become profitable if it IS rainy.... Does $2/towel and $5 for 3 sound reasonable? :D
Not to mention the suitcase with our clothing and toiletries.
I'm almost ready to go. Got the A/C in the '84 all charged up. With REAL R-12. Heh. I've got it to 42º out of the vents. :D
The convertible, I don't quite know yet. I've got a problem with a rear caliper (sticking?) that I'm going to explore in the morning. Otherwise it's ready to go as well.
We'll see everyone there. :)
Mine just got finished. Will be there too!!
Kinda a last minute decision, but i'm gonna go too! It's a spur of the moment thing so i didn't book time off work, so i'll leave at 5pm, should be there around 11pm to midnight!
won't be bringing the cougar though, not on the road, as I totally didnt' think i'd be going.
well i guess ill see everyone tomorrow. Ill be going as well. i should arrive around 10 or 11 am but im walking in. ill have a green cart full of sc parts for my car and a cooler can't miss me lol.
Worst rain in all the years I've been here. The car was disgusting. We registered, walked around a bit, got cold & wet, and decided to go back to the hotel room. Cleaned the car off the best I could for now.
I saw a couple of catbirds entering as I left the fairgrounds.
Seriously...you know it's going to rain if I'm going to Carlisle.
Yeah, it's a freakin' mess but we made it here in one piece anyhow.
See you tomorrow. :)
Hopefully Saturday will be better. Hope to see you all tomorrow :D
Hey Eric can you dry me up a spot! lol. I'm leaving shortly.
What, no pics yet?
it rained yesterday here. So I'm told. Pics today if it doesn't rain.
Hey Eric, I saw your '84 there. I couldn't find you or I would have come over to say hello. It's too bad they had the T-Birds separated from the Cougars, though it wasn't that long a walk. I was all the way at the end of the 80-88 non-TC T-Bird row, by the trailer.
I'm home now, and I was wondering if it's worth driving back tomorrow (it's a two-hour drive). Is Sunday the same as Saturday, where we get our cars all lined up?
Sorry we missed you...we were out looking at cars and parts, more than likely.
Sunday is awards day so it's not really like Saturday. People start leaving around noon-ish to go home. We're not staying long either and will probably be out of there by 1:00 at the latest.
I booked out early, That sun burnt me.
Oh my god did I ever get burned!! I am in pain tight now.
Sorry i didnt make it guys i tried getting down friday and it rained all day( didnt stop til like 9:30) i drove all the way down and said screw it. But if you needed something to do the Gettysburg battlefield was only about 10 miles away=] i was there til like 7 ish. Got some pretty cool pics of the bird between 2 cannons=}}}}
hell i tryed to catch eric 2 different times and still no show. but i still love the 84 super clean like all of his rides. I was over with the sc's most of the day.
I just looked at the awards list and I won third place. Cool! Too bad I'm at home
Cool, congrats!
My '84 broke down on the way home...think it's a water pump or thermostat, possibly both. Heads and head gaskets seem to be alright. I'm holed up in Lavale, MD right now. Will report in when there is more adventure. :D
How bad was she leaking?
Just got home myself....Staten Island Expressway & BQE FTMFL
Not really leaking...more like, no circulation of coolant. It's also possible that the radiator is clogged. Don't really know...will find out in the morning.
FYI, I got about 100 miles from Carlisle and was starting to get really ed good mileage again (started on a full tank from Carlisle and the needle is still above F). And then this happened...
Lavale is about 15-20 mins from my house. If you would need anything let me know.
Congrats! I don't think I saw your car there. I thought there was only two of us in that class until this morning when I saw the winners list. I got first place in our class.
I made it home with no problems, Although I look like a lobster.
Eric, on the bright side, your trip home is turning into a little random adventure!
How did you end up in Maryland on your way home to OH from PA???
Must have been one hell of a leak.
Congrats! I didn't have a very good spot...I was down the hill, the last one in line, after the trailer that was taking up all that room.
Thanks, I wish I could've managed my time a little better, there's so much going on that I didn't have a chance to sit by my car at all. I always like to at least spend an hour or more hanging out by it so I can meet and talk with people that come over to it. Plus I probably could've met you, we were so close! I had a good time though, friday sucked but the rest of the weekend was nice.
Found, my lens it was at my buddy's, must of fell out when I closed the trunk.
Just made it home...everything is cool.
I'm glad that everything's alright!
I still want to know how Eric ended up in Maryland on his way home....
2009 All Ford Nationals, Carlisle, PA
I hate the fact that I couldn't spend more time away from our Club's tent to meet and greet CatBirders and shoot the cars. In 2010, I'm scheduling myself AWAY from shaing babies and kissing hands :) so that I can see you all.

See you in 2010 (http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=9)!
Eric never said how he ended up in Maryland.
I drove a different way home.
Also, it was a clogged radiator.
Got a shiny new one now?
Yeah...the shop couldn't get a copper radiator so I got an aluminum one for the same price. ;)
