Title: What does a used AOD go for?
Post by: 86XR7project on April 17, 2009, 11:47:12 AM
I have a swap meet tomorrow and I'm selling my AOD from my 86 parts car. How much do you think a used AOD and 86 SO heads would go for? The tranny worked fine before it was pulled out.

Is $100 too much for an AOD or not enough?

The heads aren't worth much of anything, and as far as the AOD,It varies,I got $275 for mine, but it was in excellent shape and also had a shift kit in the new valve body.

Took me two months to get $150 for my 60k-mile AOD. It's going into a '62 Comet, BTW :hick:

depends on the area. How many miles? I would ask $150-175 depending on miles. Some areas they go for that upward. If you have a local Stang board or one close to you compare prices. Also call a few yard and see what the asking price is.

Heads are worth whatever someone will give. E7s go for 20-75 or so around here depending on what is done to them. Take what you can get, Im sure it will be much more then s.

Did you sell your AOD at the swap meet? I had one out of an 88 5.0 Bird with 100K plus on it and I sold it for $100. I was happy to get that. The guy took it home, put it in his car, emailed me some pictures and told me how happy he was. So, it was a win-win. Anyway, sell yours?

Unfortunately no, I'd be happy to just get rid of it that why I'm selling it now in the car/parts area.
