I think I am finally going to pitch my PRC shocks & struts and go with something else.
Would I be happy with Monroe Sensa-tracs? How would they do on a lowered car?
Or, would the Sensa-Tracs be too soft, in which case what should I go with?
BTW, I considered adjustable shocks & struts but I just don't really feel like shelling out the money.
Personally,I hated the sens-a-trac stuff, but,it's a mateer of personal preference.I thought they were WAY to soft.My own opinion.I'm getting quality performance struts and shocks once the front brakes (Stang stuff) are installed.
How about KYB GR-2's? To me they seem a little soft, but I used to have KYB gas-a-just's (You can't get them for TC spindles anymore so I had to switch to GR-2's). *Anything* feels soft after having gas-a-justs :rollin:
I still have the gas-a-justs on the rear. The difference when I go over a bump between the front and rear is noticeable...

Considering that you have the 11 inch spindles, the fronts are a no-brainer as far as compatibility. As far as the rears; Are you running Mustang rear shock adapters?
If so plenty of options here:

Personally, I run THESE (http://"http://www.shockwarehouse.com/site/product.cfm/id/15464/name/V36-4138-H3-Bilstein-Ford-Mustang") up front and THESE (http://"http://www.shockwarehouse.com/site/product.cfm/id/14661/name/F4-B46-2148-H1-Bilstein-Ford-Mustang") out back. Simple, effective and VERY responsive, monotube design, poly mounts, rebuildable.... yet pricey.
The Koni Reds are not all that different in price and you have the adjustability factor.
Check out the Monroe Matic-plus I'm running them all the way around on my 84 T/c and I love them. Nice and stiff but not to much.
Being lowered does'nt matter as much as what springs you're using.
Those are fairly soft in the center of their range but get progressively stiffer as the travel increases...I put Sensatracks on my Lightning(they have lowered suspension) and the ass was hard as a rock due to being out of the shocks "comfort zone"... Wound up pulling them off, and reinstalling the set of coil overs that were already on it...
I have Mustang shock adapters, sitting in a box.
I bought V6/V8 strut tower mounts last year in antition of eventually getting new struts & shocks, so basically that's all I need to get.
I haven't heard the best reviews about the GR-2's in the past, but I do like the price. Hmmm...
I have Steeda lowering springs (stiff as hell) with Monroe Sensa-trac. It is not a very good combination because as TurboCoupe50 said, being lowered it puts the shocks out of their "comfort zone" or sweet spot.
Before I had the lowering springs I liked them alot...
Well my car rides like a buckboard right now anyway...so I'm not sure how much of a difference I'd really notice.
I haven't driven mine yet with the Sens-a-tracs on it, but I have noticed that when you jounce the rear bumper it jounces once very easily, then gets rock hard. Never had another car do that. I've got the car lowered (Bullitt springs) with CHE rear arms and poly bushings up front, so I'm actually hoping for a little softness...
I have had Sensa-Tracs on mine for 3 years now (they have maybe 2000 miles on 'em) and I like them. The ride is nice but firms up as the road gets more *bouncy*. My car is at stock ride height so I couldn't say how they would respond on a lowered car.
