Title: Temperature Gauge Question
Post by: mattg on March 31, 2009, 04:56:00 PM
Hello-  I recently acquired a 1986 v8 cougar.    among other things the temp gauge isn't working.    is the sending unit the one near the thermostat housing?  or the one on the passenger side on the line going toward the heater core?  Is there a shop manual anywhere that i can download?  thanks

Yes. One red/white wire on it.

The one on the heater core line is for the eec. You want the other one that is in the intake.

Oops I skipped over his second sentence. Yes the one by the thermostat housing.
