Title: Pony Rims
Post by: 1WLD BRD on March 24, 2009, 07:08:50 PM
Welp, after having a nice set of real SE white pony rims on the cougar, and stupidly selling them last year, I decided I missed the look.

So I went and bought these:

This time I am making a custom center cap for them, to get rid of the stallion in the middle.  after they are painted one more time I will apply a black 2" Cougar emblem tomorrow and clear coat them.

I know they arent perfect, but they will do for now.:D Whatchyas think so far?

Those did look really good on your car. I really liked the look a lot.

Going to paint my new rims and get some stickers/decals made for the center.

yes I did.  the valve stems were left untaped because it gets new stems with every mount.  I have the four brand new stems here already, just waiting for the paint to get done and take them back to the shop and install them.  for a refresher of basically what they looked like on the car:

I thing I read once that Snowflake centercaps will fit Pony wheels?
Not that THAT would help you in this case though..

I wasn't saying it looked bad, I just noticed is all. I think it looks pretty good, even better since the ponies are gone.

-i found a set of Saleen center caps from back in the day i use on mine, i dont have a pic of them, but i will try to get one if it stops raining today.  they just have a small "Saleen" offset to one side of the caps.  nothing fancy, just different.......which im a fan of....:)

he might had just sanded it off smooth just like metal lol but actually my JY has more than a few sets of center caps that are just plain, just like that... i assumed they were common for projects just like that...

I removed the emblems then filled the holes with bondo...  was a quick and shiznitty job.  when I sold the car,  (I still regret that one...  :() I kept the rims and popped the bondo out and re installed the pony emblems and sold them to my buddy for his stang...
