Anyone notice weve been getting alot of new members lately?????
Maybe its just me.
I've noticed too.
Yes we have. They've been finding STEALS. So much for our thundercats going up in value :hick:
Actually i was just thinking that myself......guess all us fox people think alike lol
Eh,,,,,, its all good guys....... soon eveery junkyard across the globe will be stripped of their cat bird stuff...... muha
It's very good, because that means there's a growing fan base for these cars. In turn, that means more likelihood for aftermarket support. In time we might get some of the love the Fox Mustangs have been enjoying for nearly 30 years.
Well it would be nice if we could continue the growth of our community but I don't see our cars ever getting the fan base that Fox Mustang cars enjoy. Take a look at the 60's Cougars they don't have the fanbase that the Mustangs have (Although they do have quite a following.) Thunderbirds are obviously a different page seeing as they have been around longer and weren't always a Cougar cousin. But back to the subject at hand, I think its fantastic that our numbers are increasing. Lets keep it up!
Oh, I don't think we'll ever get even half the support the Mustangs do, but something is more than nothing. ;)
it would be nice to be able to go out and buy new fenders......
Oh amen to that brother a new drivers side fender would make my day.
More people are buying these cars? Really? Mine is the last one left in my area :disappoin
I saw 2 87-88 other cats in the past month. Before that I'm pretty sure there was a 3 month dry spell. Both times I saw them I was in my Cat.
I see people all the time look at mine, mostly younger guys working on there rice. I had it in my driveway one day and a kid put a note on he wanted to buy it. I called him and asked why? He said know one else has something like that. That's the reason I own it.
There was a guy about 6 blocks from me with a real clean 87 T-bird that was tue-tone black/charcoal. It always sat infront of his house and was the only other Fox I saw in the area. It's been gone for 3 weeks now. I hope he didn't sell it. I've seen it for about 1.5 years and never got around to putting a note on it to have him contact me if he ever wanted to sell it :o
Up to 2, 977 members now...... thats only 23 away from 3 grand baby!!!!!
you can, It's a little pricey though.....http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php (http://"http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php")

Oh man... you should call him up and say hey!!! I Call dibs On all of em'!!! lol!!!

The fact of the matter is that the fox Mustang market is drying up in terms of a car in good shape at a reasonable price. $3000 will get you a MUCH more solid T-bird/Cougar than it would a Mustang. I've seen what people have been passing of for 3k in my area. I've seen $600 T-birds in better shape structurally.
That boils down partly to the intended target market of these cars when they were new. It also boils down to the fact that one generally has to do a bit more research to get some performance out of these cars. It's all there, just gotta dig a little. More and more people are realizing this and the fact that these cars are lighter than a Mark VII adds to all this as well.
For those of you out there that own a fox Catbird who've held true to the car's original design and function as it came from the factory, you're dedication may soon pay off.
I was like growing members? WTF Then it clicked and was HEY YYEAH what he said. Not only on this site but at work too. Many more 83-88 birds and cougars crawling out of the wood work. Even more 89-97 style birds and coug's too. But instead of buying new they're fixing what they got or buyin/sellin person to person to maximize savings and profit. These cars are a steal considering what you get in comparison. Now days it seems like the youth in my area are more be nice and comfy then go FAST like back in my days. Faster was much cooler than comfy cruiser now they buy BS not go fast parts like I did. That might have some impact too.
Stuckman
LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!! growing members,,,,,,,yeah i was going to change that!!! (but no- one else said anything!!!
Still waiting for someone from utah to post more then twice.
Hey I joined! lol
Still learing all about my 1st t-bird but I only gave $800 for an 88 sport coupe with 86k miles on it. You will NEVER find a mustang with those miles for $800! I have been thru many many mustangs, bought this for the same reson most of you bought yours, its different. Only thing I didnt know was there is no aftermarket support! Thats stupid! I am emailing a friend of my dads that produces cowl hoods around here to see what he can do for the market to get us some different style hoods!
Sweet!!! id like to find a nice figerglass TC hood........that would be cool!!!
