Title: Wheel and Tire Recommendation

So I pulled the cougar out of the garage today to see some sunshine.

She needs a good cleaning, and I mean lots of detail work. Anyways.

As I sat there and looked at it, I'm not feeling the wheels at all. It's time for the 14s to go.

Current 215/70r/14 tire on it. They just dont seem meaty enough. For our style car and look a bit "passenger tire"ish.

Any good websites or ideas on a tire size wheel combo to get me started with??

4 Lug
What offset?
$800 range

That is a tricked out Cougar.

Thanks... I might add these wheels that I have now, the chrome is flaking. And is an eye sore.

Ah, well, that's different isn't it? :)

I've always been a fan of drag radial lookin' rims, whatever they're actually called.

I had about $600 in my generic Cobra R's (not counting tires) if my memory serves me...but a lot of people flame on that style wheel because they're "over done".

If you like the cobra's, why does it matter? I would throw on the finned 93 cobra rims if it were me. I love the way those look.

Ahem. Also you have all stock mustang thunderbird (10 holes, phone dial wheels, alluminum and turbo coupe). I'd say theres alot, and those are just OEM ones. Check out aftermarket rims and theres alot more.

Good point...there is a reason they are so popular, its because they are good looking wheels.  93 cobra style will be my next set of wheels though...love the way those look on our cars.

I've got 17x9's all the way around.They fit great.I use 245 40 17's up front and 255 40 17's out back.I'll eventually go wider in the back,but the 245's in the front are as wide as I can go without rubbing the strut....I think.Since I put the new strut mounts in,there may be more room.

I thought the Cobras would look nice on your car. I didnt say it because the "over done" thing was soon to follow. Seeing as that already happened.

I am noticing the more I see deep dish rims, the less they seem to appeal to me...
