with the 8.8 rear

yea,i made that mistake and went to the junkyard and pulled both from a turbo coupe

mounts off of the axel, or the bracketry?

yes ,the backing plate,i believe 4 bolts to the axle houseing
this is for my buddy running a stang at summit point,he has a markvii disc rear on his setup
