Title: Fuel Pressure Problems
Post by: TODD'S T-BIRD TURBO on March 01, 2009, 05:33:01 PM
I Have A Problem With My T-bird's Fuel Pressure Falling At Acceration From 40 Lbs To 25. Is This Strictly A Fuel Pump Problem... Or Could It Be The Fuel Pressure Relay, Faulty Tank Gaskets Or Something Else Causing This Problem ?  I Know It Has A Aftermarket Pump In It.... Probably A Cheap One. Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated.....

If pressure is falling at WOT, it's a 99% the fuel pump is shot or filter is restricted... Just disconnect the regulator vac and test it again, if pres still falls it isn't likely the regulator... I've seen a pump that made 80 psi dead ended, but still couldn't make 50psi at WOT... One TC I had the pump wouldn't make more than 25psi dead ended, and the guy wondered why it wouldn't run  worth a ...

BTW at TC should have 55psi at full boost...
