This is directly below the 30 gallon fishtank in a bedroom on the main floor. The canister filter return tube decided to spring a leak while my daughter was at school and I went to the gym......It managed to spew forth about 10 gallons before the power strip on the floor shorted out. Notice the light outlet on the ceiling as well.
That had a glass dome over the 2 bulbs that was full of water.
Everything plugged into the powerstrip is useless and I have to replace those along with the light fixture in the pictures not to mention 4 pieces of 4' X 8' drywall and the soundproofing.
Then I have to re-tape, re-spackle, and paint.
THis string of horrendous things that have been occuring in my life have got to end at SOME point.... :shakehead
Apparently my day was better.Super busy, but better. Will insurance help?
Not worth it. Other than my time, I can do the house repairs for under $200 easily. It's the time factor that will be the most annoying.
Hey, Paul it is Friday the 13th !!!
Very true.I've had issues at this house to deal with, and it wasn't really the money being spent to fix the damage that bothered me so much as it was the fact that it's going to take me a solid day to fix it.Time is often very hard for me to find.
I don't think your aloud to get ahead, something always take priority.
It does suck!!
No doubt. We got a check for $1200.00,then,our dryer quit, and we got the bill for our daughter's tuition. It really IS always something.

Lmfao!!!!!!!!
My day was definitely a lot better
Sheetrock, homasote, tape, spackle, new spackle knife (old one was gouged), drywall screws, new mixer -- $140...
Still have to get paint and a light fixture as I don't trust that old one. Should be $40 more with that...
Today for me was ok. Not so much for you, but I've been there before.
Paul, Is the the cost of Fuel going to get all of that in there too ?
Not bad for price, if you do it yourself.
I would probably charge about a grand just to fix the ceiling.
Paint and fixtures would be extra.
Water damage sucks, but at least the wiring didn't start a fire.
It just keeps getting better.......my basp00get staircase is tight.
I've just confirmed that it is impoosible to negotiate a full 4' X 8' piece of drywall down the stairs......
Cutting in half FTL.
:punchballs:
Jeez, I just realized how much barrel distortion that lens I used has when I push it t max aperture.....
I gotta get that other lens I want...
This is exactly why I say that fish are evil.
Both Home Depot AND Lowes are less than 2 miles from me. For small stuff I can walk to the local Hardware store. I went to the Depot as I rented a rugshampoo machine as well. Seeing as that is unrelated to this I didn't include it in the cost....
Anyhow I prefer Lowes overall, but the Depot Rental center pwns Lowes rental center.
Somehow, I'm guessing there's a story behind that statement :hick:
OK, I'm going to play dumb here...
Why did you go to the gym when the second photo clearly shows that you have a weightlifting bench?
Hmmmmmmm? Inquiring minds want to know...
:hick:
which is why fish tanks and waterbeds go on the lowest floor :)
basp00gets
I have legs, you know :hick:
Seriously, what's a bench good for?
Bench presses. I do a good deal of stuff at home, but there's just some stuff I can't. I hit the gym 3 times weekly. I have a routine for at home as well that I do 4 to 5 times a week.
I'm just messin' with ya, Paulie. :)
So were you a busy boy today? Any progress?
yesterday, my son figured he would share his flu with me. so me and the toilet have been the best of friends.which is ok because it is daytona week after all.
You Daytona and yelling for Ralph:toilet: At least that’s how I do it
Paul looks like you got plenty of working out to do down there the old fashion way. hows it all going.
Not much progress....The soundproofing goes up today and I have to work so....I'll finish when I swing back into my days off. It takes FOREVER to get wet drywall dust off of linoleum tile....
Shop vac with a good filter, no sense blowing it out the vac again.
Rug shampoo machine worked better ;)
im glad when my water line busted in the sunroom that its got wood ceilings and wood floors. i had three inches of water in it. but have fun on the repairs been there to many times (parents rental properties) fish tanks are evil. fish taste good with tarter sauce.lol
my buddy had a truck he's owned for 2 weeks broken into while we were at work. Sometime between 7 am thursday and 2 m friday. They stole over $2000 worth of stuff and busted out his back window. He talked me into going to idaho with him. We spun out going 75 on the freeway. We were okay, and drove the truck home, but broke his cupholder clean off, and his bench seat is broken.
I went on a sleigh ride. :)
Sorry you didn't.
